"I stayed at Mount Meru Game Lodge before embarking on a 2-week safari and after 24 hours in the air. It was a wonderful place to unwind and sleep well before the trip. The location was convenient, the staff very friendly and helpful, the price was fair, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and the setting was special having been a former sanctuary for game animals. Also, there was an onsite massage spa which was excellent."

"The views of Mt Meru and the surrounding bush country were magnificent. The grounds include banana, papaya, mango, pineapple and avocado plants/trees, all of which enhance the experience. The staff were extremely attentive and polite. All speak English. We loved the food so much my wife wanted to bring the chef home (joking of course, but high praise). "The hotel has significant grounds around it and there are lots of birds. It is just outside Arusha and so much quieter and clean air, there is a lawn and pool and tables to relax and socialize while taking in a great view of Mt Meru and all the birds. "I can't say enough good things about Kaswende Farm. The owner was the most remarkable host I've ever met. He arranged for a pick-up for me and treated me like family on my arrival. It was my first day in Tanzania and in fact in Africa, and he did a remarkable job at getting me up to speed with what to be aware of while travelling through the country.
