Wild Fowl Reserve on Ashmead Drove I couldn't gain access to the reserve as the gate was locked. I assume the public are allowed in at some time as there was a lifebelt and a notice warning against swimming nailed to a tree.

Ash Lakes. The easternmost of the three fishing lakes, also shown in 635946. Nobody fishing yet this chilly morning, although it's not iced over. The water bailiff told me that the previous day, several people turned up to fish but couldn't because of the ice.
