"Property is unique, like a time capsule/living museum that's beautifully preserved, from the tiles to the wrought iron and historical photos throughout the common areas. . The view from the balcony over the Amazon is incredibly memorable. The manager, Francisco, went out of his way to ensure we had a memorable stay and helped out with booking transportation and anything else we needed. When we mentioned it was our son's birthday, he even decorated our hotel room door and had a birthday cake waiting for us when we returned from our day out! While the rooms aren't the highest level of luxury, they're spacious and clean and absolutely fit our needs. It's about a 5 minute walk to the plaza de armas"

"I would very rarely write anything but positive reviews, but I can’t in good conscience do that here. Staff seemed in general to be disinterested in helping, and also didn’t seem to be able to navigate the computer booking system to find our booking. They also attempted to double charge us (twice) despite being shown receipts from hotels.com! In addition to this, when we requested a room away from the busy and loud main road outside (which prevented a good night’s sleep on our first night), we were shown to a room which stank of damp and had very obvious black mould on the walls. When we requested a cleaner room, we were treated with disdain. While cheap (and they did store our bags for us while we were on a 3 day tour in the Amazon) I could not in good faith recommend this accommodation."
