  • In 1907, Samuel Hill purchased 5,300 acres of land along the Columbia River with the dream of establishing a Quaker farming community. He formed the Maryhill Land Company, named after his daughter, and set about building a town. The village included a store and post office, a Quaker church, an inn, a blacksmith’s shop and a stable. In 1914, work began on a hilltop mansion that was to be Hill’s home. But the remote location of Maryhill and the lack of irrigation proved insurmountable obstacles and the land company failed. Construction of Hill’s mansion stopped in 1917. Loïe Fuller It was then that a friend of Hill’s—Loïe Fuller, a pioneer of modern dance living in Paris—convinced him to turn his would-be mansion into a museum of art. Fuller’s close association with well known artists in France, helped build the core of the museum’s collection, including the acquisition of more than 80 works by French sculptor Auguste Rodin. Hill also transferred his own art collections to the museum.

I’ve booked here over 5 times and counting. My favorite place to stay in Biggs. Perfectly tucked away from all the traffic that comes through. The owners/staff are very sweet and polite and they care about you and your stay. Will always book here

The room seemed clean and they were Pet friendly which was nice. The location is very very loud with trains and trucks all night long but for one night it was manageable. Staff was kind and friendly. Plenty of food options nearby.

Nice clean room

The room was nice and clean and a nice size. The bathroom was clean and a nice tub shower combo. Check in was easy and the gentleman at the desk was friendly. The hotel is near the highway and a truck stop, plenty of restaurants and stores within walking distance. And it is pet friendly and allows cats (which is why I picked to stay here). I would stay again if I was coming this way again. So yes I would recommend it.

The best motor court style motel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s even nicer than some of the chain motels with ridiculous rates. If you come to Bend on a budget this is the perfect spot. It’s especially great for seniors and solo travelers

All in all it did the job. It was clean, hut there were cobwebs from the ceiling. Wasn't fond of the odor in the motel either. The ac was loud and the microwave on last legs. I was out in a double queen and I originally booked a single because it was just me. No back up TP and tissues ran out. Took the do not disturb off the door because most hotels go in , tidy up, and restock When I got back to my room nothing was left. I just needed the basics and it was apparent no one entered. It was my last night there so didn't bother. So by and by you get what you pay for There are four different hotels in the area that are better overall that I will stay at. G

Older hotel, great prices! Not the worst, very noise but you need to concider the location. Great for convenience. Travel stop and food right next door. 1am arrival at last minute and the owner was super nice! Not sure his name but helped me park right up front. Turned keys into his son who was also super nice. Family owned.

Conveniently located off freeway. Next to gas station with McDonald’s. Somewhat dated and some renovations appeared amateurish to me. It is next to the train tracks so bring your ear plugs.

Check in was long. Manager had to be retrieved from the taco stand in the parking lot. Couldn't find my reservation but checked me in anyway. Room on end by railroad tracks which were loud. Room was very clean but old. Great bed and pillows. Toilet kept running and was very small and low to the floor. TV didn't work so manager had to try and fix it. Got it going but remote wouldn't control volume or turn on and off. Lots of flies in the room and air conditioner was not good. It worked but barely. The shower was hot but no water pressure. The price was cheap for the area, conveniently located by exit, food, and gas. Nice people but the inside and outside could use some spiffing up.

We got there i ask for a bottom room they didn't have one then he said i got a smoking room i said no he was so nice he moved us to a non-smoking room. It was was nice and quite would stay there again

The location allows pets and doesn’t charge an obscene price. The room was clean, bed were new and soft with lots of pillows. A good ac unit because it was over 100 degrees outside but in our room it was 65. We hit a deer on the hwy and were stranded most of the day until the evening. Called the front desk and he allowed us to check in early with no extra fee. Really saved us from heat exposure if we had to wait until 2 o’clock for check in. My family and I will be staying there again for traveling through to MT.

The room was 100% fine. I wanted a cheap room that was clean and updated and this was. The TV didn't work and the back of the facility was a bit rough but I don't care. It was very fair for what I paid

Interior was surprisingly modern and comfortable but there was a problem with all the plugs, lamp wouldn’t stay on etc. cobwebs and dirt throughout. Pile of trash out front of door on arrival. Couldn’t get anyone to come to the front desk until phone call was placed. Comfortable and cheap but that’s about it.
