La Mansion Inn Arenal

"An absolute gem of a spot! You will not be disappointed with this well managed and beautiful situated inn on Lake Arenal. Quaint yellow cottages with gorgeous views, an infinity pool and hot tub, ancient looking artifacts, fanciful paintings and a welcoming staff make this place unique and relaxing. We added an extra night just to take advantage of the views from our porch and our lovely room. Sunsets are the highlight of the day. Breakfast is included at the restaurant with bar on site. Prices are a little high however the food is very good and the convenience on having it right on site makes it worth it. Desk clerk, Kevin, was congenial and accommodating. Make sure you check out the photo album in the bar which shows how this inn was built and a story of the man who built it. A fascinating feature which will enhance your experience. "

"We had a great stay here! Beautiful property. We had the Mountain Bungalow and it was really nice. The food was delicious and decently priced. We bought into a ziplining tour, the canopy/hanging bridges tour and 3 hr/3 waterfall hike - all great! Saw lots of monkeys and a toucan. Guides were great. Would stay here again!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at blue River. The rooms were huge and super clean. We really appreciated the coffee maker every morning. We did the zip line tour with blue River and it was great. The spa pools were very relaxing with tables and chairs at each of them. there were no surprises with the bookings."

"This is a wonderful location near the national park. If you are wanting to hike the waterfall trail in the national park, it is only about a 5-10 minute drive from this hotel. The hotel is unique in its design and location. It is nestled into the natural surroundings, and the grounds are lovely. There is a further hike across the road on some grounds owned by the hotel, and it is a nice little introduction to the rainforest. There are multiple bird species in the garden. The hotel has wide floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the valley, and you can birdwatch from the main dining area. The food here is excellent as well. There is homemade bread with fruit/eggs/porridge in the mornings. The coffee is also plentiful and good. Some may find that these rooms need "updating" to modern decor, and that may be true. But, I found the rooms to be clean and well-maintained. The aesthetic of this hotel is unique, and I appreciate this more than any standard boring aesthetic from contemporary hotels that all look the same. The owner has clearly put thought into the decor, and it reflects the unique personality of this hotel. I would definitely stay here again. This are remains relatively undeveloped, and it is a good getaway from more touristy areas of Costa Rica."

"The entire hotel and staff were amazing! We booked a bungalow for three and it was one of the nicest rooms we have stayed in. In addition to the wonderful room, the facilities including the Spa, the pools, the restaurant and the activities all exceeded our expectations as well. The Canyon Adventure (Zipline) was a big hit for our family, and our son was very appreciative of all the meal options he could have that offered non-dairy options. We booked transportation with the resort provided option and it was a great choice for ease and convenience. Five star experience all around!"
