Top Black Lake Hotel Reviews
Island House Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"I loved that the hotel is the oldest on the island, being the first one built in 1852. The property is well maintained - clean and manicured. - Very scenic from the rocking chairs on the porch where it overlooks the water and light house. The bar was very nice and lively, especially during happy hour and the happy hour menu is a true value for something light. The front desk, bar and porters we encountered were very, very nice. The next morning for breakfast was a totally different story. The staff made us feel we were imposing. Eggs benedict was cold (as cold as the reception we got there from staff) and definitely NOT worth the money, even with the voucher given to us at the front desk upon check in. The hotel was a nice brisk walk to Shepler's Ferry. The hotel porters make sure your luggage is waiting at Shepler's for your convenience - a nice touch. They also ensure your luggage is taken to the hotel from Shepler's so we could enjoy downtown, a carriage tour, shopping & fudge before walking to the hotel for the evening. (the alternative is a horse drawn taxi.) I would stay here again, if ever on the island, as they have an elevator."
Hamilton Inn Select Beachfront Mackinaw City
8/10 Good
"A decent room. The biggest problem was how cramped the room was. It was 2 queens and an entertainment system and you could barely walk by it due to the cramped nature of the layout"
Clearwater Lakeshore Motel
10/10 Excellent
"Great location on Lake Huron, great price, and nice little things like fires and smores at night. Would stay here again if in the area."
Mackinaw Beach & Bay Inn & Suites
8/10 Good
"We loved the location, lakeview balcony, beach access, having enough beds for 5 adults. The hotel feels a little tired. The shoulder season mid-week rate is a good value."
Court Plaza Inn & Suites
8/10 Good
"This is a well-maintained older motel, comfortable and quiet. No breakfast. The man at the desk, who may have been the owner, seemed in a rush to get me checked in and without conveying much appreciation for my business. The refrigerator in the room was turned off, and after turning it on I found it made a loud noise every few minutes and turned it off again. The coffee cups are not wrapped, and there was one tiny soap. On the plus side, I got a great price on the room."
Bridge Vista Beach - Hotel & Convention Center
10/10 Excellent
"Our whole experience was the best! The Staff was Awesome and the beach and lake was so great. The kids enjoyed it too! Especially the indoor water park and pool. We will be back to this hotel!"
Hometown Inn
10/10 Excellent
"It was a good room for what we paid for. We just spent the night and left in morning."
Best Western River Terrace
10/10 Excellent
"Great place!"
Secrets on Main Bed & Breakfast
