"The hotel is convenient and in great location for what I needed. Unfortunately it needs a complete reno, seems like everything is fixed up with a bandaid on a budget and falling apart. Bedding was clean but everything else questionable. The pool was out of service for my stay and I looked it specifically for the pool so it was a waste."

"The staff were very helpful and quick to offer solutions when a couple of problems presented themselves. However, there should be more detail and attention paid to certain things in the rooms. The AC vent in my room had dust all over it from what must have been months of not being dusted. And both of the light switches beside the bed did not work. I wish someone would check into these things when they clean the rooms or maybe have someone walk through the rooms sometimes. The phone line in the room didn't work once and it was an inconvenience to wait in line at the front desk to try and speak to someone about them. I appreciated the staff and their service, however, the maintenance should be more frequent."

Hotel St. James

"Hotel St. James was a great place to stay just off Times Square - walkably close to everything. The staff were very helpful after I asked for a prettier room, as the photos or the rooms on their website show exposed brick walls, and a seating area. Our first room was just outside the elevator and very basic. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are very friendly. If you're looking for a decent, clean, quiet place to stay, I would highly recommend. They have a secure room for you to leave your luggage in if you arrive before check-in, or if you have a late departure and want your last day to do some more exploring. The flat rate for a car to La Guardia was $65 cash, $75 credit card (which was not made clear to us)."
