"It was the off season, so we may have been the only people there; paying guests at any rate. That made it seem fairly remote and private. The only other cabin near ours was about 150' up a narrow driveway to the main road (gravel drive). Not occupied so no neighbors. Eye level and above from the cabin hight above the valley was very scenic. Look down into the valley below and most of the rest of the resort cabins and Airstream rentals on the valley floor. Several vehicles as well that seemed a little derelect. Could have been owned by other guests or the property.
The only negative things to say were:
The shower in our cabin, which was nice, had some dark drips on one wall that we assumed were just soap that was missed during the last cleaning.
The gas grill that was outside the cabin was also little dirty and the wire grill brush for cleaning it was old so it didn't clean well. A little extra effort (and heat) took care of that.
Spotty internet kept the prop map that was sent unavail at first. More signs to specific cabins would have been helpful in the dark.
The best thing was early one morning, we watched a small herd of mule deer(?) walking across the valley floor. Later that day, at least three of them climbed up to our cabin and grazed the slope outside. The large picture window facing that way gave us quite a view. Felt like we were in the zoo that the deer were there to watch.
Overall, Echo Valley Resort was very nice and worth checking out, even in the off season."
