"The hotel is nice with two places to eat, an outdoor seating area, and a couple of floors with rooms. I had a room above the main entrance and while it was comfy, there was absolutely no noise prevention with either the window or the door. I could hear everything. There's a tag that offers ear plugs, but I'd rather see them invest in better sound proofing. The bed was firm, which I enjoyed. It's close to some food options as well in the area. I can't speak to the food options in the hotel as I didnt eat there. Overall comfy, but the noise was noticeable. Staff is very friendly."

"Very nice rooms but quite a bit away from reception. The design of the reception is a bit odd also - it's immediately obvious where to find the bar/restaurant. It could do with some more prominent signage. But a very nice, clean hotel."

"Simply fantastic. The staff and accomodations were excellent, and we so appreciated receiving a very kind complimentary room upgrade to celebrate our anniversary. The history of the castle and surrounding land is fascinating and steeped in lore, and we enjoyed learning more about this this very special part of the heart of Ireland."

"The Malt Store surpassed our expectations, the apartment was huge, absolutely spotless and extremely comfortable. Birr is a nice little town and we were very close to all amenities. The staff were very prompt and friendly in answering any correspondence regarding our stay. I would thoroughly recommend The Malt Store as accommodation if visiting this part of Ireland. First class."
