"Charming hotel which has it's quirks but that's all part of the experience with fantastic staff who made us feel very welcome and satisfied. The view was fabulous and the food was terrific and the staff were brilliant. The road up to the hotel is not for the faint hearted (Strada da Valmara) so take their advice on how to reach the property if you are not very confident with mountain roads. "

"The staff was amazing giving helpful hints on where to go, the room was large for our family of 5 and very comfortable. A "peek-a-boo lake view was a nice treat. A great location. Parking was on the street, we got lucky just around the corner. Delicious huge Breakast. "

"Overall great staff besides the bar staff on in the evening. Quite rude, when asked her about Italian red wines, she just said to choose between red or white. Asked which one is a heavy red, she said they are all the same. Terrible attitude and rude. Every other staff were great. Great hotel located perfectly in Menaggio."

"We had a lovely stay for our wedding anniversary. Varenna is a great little town. If you stay for a week definitely plan some day trips to surrounding areas via ferry or boat taxi. The rooms were clean and staff were very accommodating and kind. Willing to help with anything we needed (airport transfer, dinner reservations, spa, boat routes). We had a junior suite with a great view of the lake. There are some beautiful swans that live on the lake and came by the beach at the front of the hotel everyday. "
