Koi Resort Saint Kitts, Curio Collection by Hilton
6/10 Okay
"NOT a "Resort" in the least and should not define or advertise themselves that way...that would be my biggest takeaway. Staff was fine with a few key people that were excellent.
Some big issues for me at this place though were as I mentioned, that this place should absolutely not refer to itself as a "Resort." There are certain and various expectations that an establishment must meet to define itself as a "resort" and Koi doesn't meet any of them as far as I'm concerned. This term is extremely misleading and NOT the case at all...It's a Hotel with an outdoor pool, that's it. Even the beach that you're on is not accommodating for lying on or swimming, but that is what it is cause you're on the "Atlantic side", not the Caribbean Sea side of the country...key fact that I failed to consider.
The restaurant was decent, but definitely seemed pricey to me and after a few nights it can get pretty limited.
On the plus side, I will give credit to the rooms themselves. I thought the actual room was easily the best feature of the stay. The extreme spaciousness, balcony, and overall layout of the bathtub and shower with the optional window in between those areas were all very nice. Decent amount of choices on the TV there as well.
I did also appreciate and like the fact that they provided at Daily Shuttle at 11 for the guests to one of 3 locations; being between Frigate Bay, Carambola Beach Club, and Shipwreck Beach. I personally liked the down & dirty vibe at Shipwreck the most."
"The location, staff and amenities were great - we had the best time.
The only con was that private beach had so much sea weed we could use the beach at all.
The property is old but beautiful.. the rooms needs a little TLC but overall great hotel. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Plenty of places to eat outside the resort if you like to go out and about"
"It’s a good place to go to relax. The ov suite was spacious with great ac and water pressure. We had breakfast everyday in the room in the fully equipped kitchen. We were always able to get a lounger and it was quiet for the most part. For the first few days we were able to stay on the beach for sunset. One day there were people that used the lounge chairs that were not guests and they were arguing with people on the beach for smoking.i complained to the desk twice, finally someone came to talk to them but they didn’t leave. We were asked to leave before 5 when they were putting all the lounge chairs away but the non guests stayed until sunset with the lounge chairs. The next day the entire beach was being set up for a festival and again we were asked to leave. We weren’t informed about the festival.
However, if you’re looking for a good deal, it’s a good place to stay."
"The ocean view was beautiful. The room was very spacious like an apartment. The manager, was very attentive and nice. They Hotel is under new management and they are making improvements so one day, when they put a pool in, it will be even better! The beaches are free so not having a pool wasn’t a problem. "
"Landsay he is awesome! He did everything its possible to make my stay the best in St Kitts! I have been here for 2 weeks but most time i traveled, went to Saba, Statia with Ferry, to Puerto Rico with flight , and of course when i was here i went to Nevis , the beach its amazing there, the ferry 2 minutes walk from this hotel , so everything was great!!! Just having my last beer here on the balcony;)"
"The room was clean and well maintained during our stay. The property is a bit old and dated but comfortable enough. There are two pools and both have unusual layouts where you are not really able to sit by the pool to socialize or to watch your children if you have children with you. Only one of the pools have chairs at all and they are located on a "sun deck" on one side of the pool that is not visible from the part of the pool where you swim. I know this isn't fixable but it's a strange layout that I thought others should be aware of. The restaurant on the beach by The Hamilton (The Yacht Club) is not affiliated with The Hamilton but is quite good and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Highly recommend the pizza! "
