"Our stay for our family of 4 at Aninga Lodge was fantastic. The room was clean and convenient. We spent a lot of time at the pool with the kids, they loved it, especially when the monkeys and toucans were hanging out in the trees. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The only downside we found was the transportation between the hotel and Tortuguero town. There is a boat provided for the hotel every few hours, but it isn't often enough to be convenient. The other option is to take a...

"I cannot express enough how much I enjoyed my stay at Serendipity Hotel. From the moment I arrived at the pier I was taken care by Cooper and the team at the hotel. I had booked the all inclusive formule and I felt treated like a king for each of the meals. The ladies were wonderful with me and made me feel at home. Nothing I could ask was ever an issue. I will definitely come again as I felt I should have stayed longer. Definitely an hotel deserving to be known!"

"Nice hotel, very close to jaguar trail and the beach. Was a 5/10 min walk into town for restaurants. As it is slightly outside the town it was nice and quiet.Room basic but had hot water and wi fi.Staff great and helped me navigate paying my park fees online. "

"Worst experience I have ever made with a Hotel. Not sure if the other reviews are bought or not. We had a room with blood stains, the „booked out hotel“ was filled with 1 family, sheets weren’t washed and yellowish and we were asked to smoke crack by a homeless man in front of the Hotel. They charged 140€ for the boat pickup, after all we left after 1 day because of the condition of the room. Even though we got promised a refund we got nothing back but one night. Terrible."

Aninga Lodge

"Our stay for our family of 4 at Aninga Lodge was fantastic. The room was clean and convenient. We spent a lot of time at the pool with the kids, they loved it, especially when the monkeys and toucans were hanging out in the trees. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The only downside we found was the transportation between the hotel and Tortuguero town. There is a boat provided for the hotel every few hours, but it isn't often enough to be convenient. The other option is to take a taxi boat, but at $4/person it gets a bit expensive for a round trip for a family of 4. They could also do a better job of making sure their boat drivers look for you when you reserve a space on their boat. When we first arrived, we had scheduled a ride on the boat and they just told us to be at the main dock in Tortuguero 10 minutes in advance. We expected them to have a sign or at least call out our names or the name of the lodge. That didn't happen and the docks are busy so we had no idea which boat to get on. We ended up missing the boat. "
"Really authentic place. Beautiful grounds, we saw lots of birds here, and big iguanas. The swimming pool is beautiful and relaxing. Comfy rooms. Make sure to book your tours from here. We booked our turtle tour and canoe tour from here. Our turtle guide is miss Nori from the hotel. She is beyond amazing! She is local, so knowledgeable and does patrols along the beach to protect the turtles. Really admirable!"
"AC was excellent and much needed in hot, humid climate. Awesome view. Family room was excellent for cost value. Unfortunately, new obnoxious bar next door plays terrible music late into the night. Not the fault of the guesthouse and maybe not an issue mid week. "
