"Our stay here was amazing. First time in Costa Rica and this place made it memorable. From the staff to the food to the rooms to the pools to simply everything.
Breakfast was incredible and it varied daily. The views in the main restaurant dining area were amazing. It felt like you were dining in the jungle as everything was open air. We were able to see some wildlife while dining including some interesting birds and an iguana.
The lunch is also amazing no matter what you get. We had the octopus, ribeye, 24-hour pork, and a pizza and all were great. I'd skip the dessert.
The pools are really the highlight of the resort. It can get busy from time to time but if you aim to go when it's a little offpeak (e.g., when it's raining, night time, in b/w breakfast and lunch) then you'll fare better. The pools aren't too hot but that is kind of a good thing when you'd prefer to sit in them for longer to enjoy the lush, green, jungle surroundings. Everything was clean and well-kept. There is a hot pool by the main pool if you want something hotter.
We missed out trying the spa but will aim to do that next time. Seemed nice when we visited.
The property is expansive and it can be a little bit of a walk to get from the front to your room (depending on which one) but our room was perfectly situated by the pool/restaurant and wasn't too far. We were in a Jr Suite. The Chato Suites and Villas are the furthest away from the main entrance."
