Country Houses in Carroll County

We spent 4 nights in this lovely B&B in late May/Early June on the outskirts of Galena after 5 night in Chicago. It's a increasingly pleasant 3 hour drive West of Chicago on the Iowa/Wisconsin/Illinois borders, very near the Mississippi. Galena being a lovely relaxing contrast to the city, but with plenty to occupy your time for a short stay. Good base to explore the surrounding countryside in whatever way you prefer - car, cycling, canoeing, walking etc.. several historic buildings to explore...

Friendly helpful check-in / check-out. Room was good, although the aircon was a little loud but not too bad. Breakfast, as expected apart from the coffee which was much better than expected. Easy to find the hotel and parking space was plenty. Many places to eat within a 5 minute drive.

Clean comfortable rooms.

Room was spacious and clean. Comfortable beds. Hotel was quiet but I think out of season. Breakfast was included. Simple hot buffet style but good.

Our stay was great, friendly staff, rooms cleaned everyday. Buffet breakfast was good. Pool was good bud could do with a paint job as it made pool look dirty but it wasnt. Overall a 8 out of 10.

My husband and I were on a weekend motorcycle trip, this was our first time staying at this hotel. We loved having the option of the shuttle service so that we did not have to drive the motorcycles to supper and after dark. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
