"Great location; easy to get to downtown Monterey, and to Carmel, Highway 1, Point Lobos, Big Sur, etc. There is a Trader Joe's 2 blocks away and many services close by.
The room was clean and nicely decorated, with a large comfortable bed. The room was small, but pleasant and had everything we needed, including a small refrigerator.
The down sides were: Rooms are NOT well insulated. We heard the people walking around in the room above ours, and up and down the stairs next to our room, and everyone walking past our rooms, opening their car doors, car keys beeping, etc. (you park right in front of your room.) Also, they charge $17/night to park! It's a dressed-up motel, and they charge you to park in front of your room. That felt like a rip off."
"Upon arrival, valet was quick and attentive, delivering our luggage to the room as we checked in.
Walking through the hotel, it was clean with a pleasant smell.
We reserved a double queen room with a courtyard. This room may have worked if it was just myself and my husband. But with us and our two littles and luggage to last us 5 nights, it was a bit cramped. My husband called and the manager graciously agreed to upgrade us to a king with queen pullout which was a larger room. This room made all the difference!
We did have breakfast once at the hotel. It was OK. We had the plate with eggs and potatoes. Service was slow but they were kind.
We didn't get a chance to visit the bar/ lounge area but hope to in the future. It's beautiful and inviting.
Lastly and probably most importantly for us is the central location of the hotel. It is located downtown, next to the wharf and close to cannery row and the aquarium.
Tips: you can rent a bike and get places faster without driving your vehicle.
Also, you can catch the free trolley to all the places.
We would definitely recommend staying here, and will return in the future."
"We loved the location more than anything. It was so close to every store and every place we wanted to go especially the beach. We loved having a pool and a hot tub. The staff was super nice we love the continental breakfast in the morning, I mean things couldn’t have been any better we will definitely stay there again"
