"The Blennerhassett was a fine place to stay in Parkersburg and a good value. The room and bed were very comfortable, and the front desk staff was helpful. The only negative was the restaurant, where service was slow. However, there are other good restaurants within short walking distance from the hotel."
"We stayed at the sure stay 4 nights while we explored the New River Gorge and Monongahela forest. Location was about 30 mins or so from the gorge, but a lot of close by state parks and beautiful scenery to access easily. Hotel is right by the beautiful Summersville lake as well. Hotel is small, quaint. A little outdated on the outside. But the rooms were nice and clean. We stayed in the king size bed room and bed was super comfy and offered a good night's sleep. Shower was good. Breakfast is basic, waffles, cereal, toast/ breads, apples, juice and coffee. Hotel was quiet and felt safe. No extra amenities, but we didn't need that. Served our purpose of needing a clean, safe place to shower and lay heads after long days of exploring the wild, wonderful forests of West Virginia. Staff was all super friendly and helpful on all shifts. Close by to several places to grab good food. And the price point was awesome, saving money to be spent elsewhere."
"I really did not use the amenities so I can't really comment on them. The front desk staff were the ones that informed me that I had accidentally booked two nights instead of one
They told me that I needed to contact the booking platform to get a refund. I did so and was able to get a refund so I really appreciate the front desk staff that informed me of this situation"
"The place is very unique located in a very interesting small town. Check in was quick and easy, staff was very welcoming and friendly. A very good freshly cooked breakfast was served, an unexpected treat. The glamping dome was much roomier than I expected. Very comfortable, it did rain the night we were there so the viewing was not the best but the sleep was excellent."
"This is a basic, no-frills old property that has aged well. The rooms are plain, and nothing but coffee in the office for breakfast. I am a traveler who looks for a clean place to sleep and shower; the frills don't matter. This fits the bill for someone who would rather spend their money on other things than frills in a room they will sleep in and be gone from in 12 hours. In cities, cheap hotels attract an element to stay away from, but that type is not touring the back roads of West Virginia."
