Really nice hotel in a great location, don't fool yourself into thinking you can walk there with you case from the station though - It's not far but it's a massive hill. The staff throughout could not be more helpful and friendly, they really make the stay. The only thing is that it is very expensive, breakfast is CHF40 and diner at any of the hotel's restaurants is very expensive (but also very nice!!). There are plenty of good alternatives within an easy walk though. I would highly recommend...

I booked the Royal Savoy to celebrate both my birthday and wedding anniversary. The hotel has recently had a major refurbishment after being closed for 5 years. Nice hotel that is working with the hospital in terms of design. It is a hotel for all to use....with a consideration for individuals that may need extra space or extra help. For example, wide corridors, large room areas, large shower rooms...etc. even if you are perfectly able...you will still value the space and amenities

Loved this hotel, a very luxurious feel to it. Rooms were spacious and we had an adjoining room which was just as large and even had a bath and shower. It is situated quite high up, so would be quite a climb if not too fit, however there is a free travel pass in Lausanne (and in Switzerland) that you will be given for metro, buses and trains. We had the buffet breakfast which was tasty and set us up for the day. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful and gave us advice on what to see...

Starling hotel is an amazing option to stay in Lausanne. We stayed for 5 nights. This is our second stay in the same hotel. Very convenient place to stay. Helpful and Welcoming front desk team and cafe staff. Good breakfast. Clean room and hardworking housekeeping. Nice view from the room. Highly recommend this place if you want to spend few days in beautiful Lausanne.

The hotel is new, outside is still under construction of the aquarium - hence low prices. One of the worst parts is that the smoking area is right on the door of the hotel. As you go out of the door you're into a smelly smoking area. YAK!

Very pleasant stay. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Lausanne's train station so very comfortable. Close to shops and restaurants. Facilities and room in great condition and breakfast was lovely.

A lovely historic hotel in the heart of Lausanne. The hotel is in an attractive old building but the rooms are stylish, modern and very well equipped. Because of environmental regulations they do not have air conditioning but our room had a very effective fan which was more than sufficient. A nice hotel very close to the lake. Rooms were a little dated but clean and beds very comfortable. Only real downside was how close the hotel was to the main road but with lake views and the ability to swim every morning it was well worth it.
