I arrived at 12:04 a.m.—four minutes after check-in closed. Fair enough. Unfortunately, turning a five-minute check-in into a forty-minute ordeal took some effort.

"If an IKEA opened a beach motel it would look like the Surfside! Room was bare, cool and clean.
