"Positives: The setting was very picturesque and romantic. Room and view was amazing, private beach was perfect, strolling between all the pools was very relaxing, cafe was great for coffee, interior design modern and hotel recently renovated. The staff was soooo nice! Negatives: The food was just ok (definitely Blaze was the best, esp for breakfast), and there was a lack of adult ‘sexy spaces’. No night club. Bars only at the pool and sports bar, and the DJ didn’t show up on Saturday night. We were in bed by 10:30, which is not usually what we want on vacation."

"Almar was clean and a comfortable stay for the two of us although we waited until after 6:00pm for the room to be cleaned; however, it was not friend friendly as we are used to. Don't be fooled that they allow guests for 3 hours since guests cannot use chairs, order drinks, or order food from the pool areas and you will be supervised until you vacate from eyesight. Therefore, other than entertaining in your room, it's useless for inviting friends. We were asked to leave the pool chairs with many vacant and harassed by the servers since our two friends didn't have occupancy bands and only guest bands. Therefore, we entertained at another hotel without the attitude. Finally, we were marketed with a free massage to listen to a 1-Hour sales pitch upon checking in. On vacation, really?? We don't recommend this place."

"This hotel is amazing! Clean, staff was very tentative, food at the restaurant was soooo good(breakfast and dinner are made to order), nice little semi private beach, 3 pools ( we used 2 of them), drinks at the bar were on point, short ride to Zona Romántica. We enjoyed a massage while there, they came to our room and provided the service there. Which was so nice an d relaxing with the sound of the crashing waves."

"A number of places in the resort with leaks from the ceiling and no work being done to fix them. Almost the only place to get AC is in your room. Prepare to sweat everywhere else. I can’t believe how many common areas with no AC. A lot of cool places to hang out but you sweat like crazy, so not enjoyable. Requested months before our stay to get rooms next to each other with our kids. They still “could not” do it. We had to be on opposite ends of the building from our children! The water in our shower took 4 full minutes to get warm! 4 FULL minutes! And even then, it was lukewarm at best. We had someone look at it and he said that is just how it is. The food was good for the most part."

"The location is idea. However, they advertised breakfast was included when I arrived, I found out it was not. They do not allow you to have any visitors to your room which is very odd and childish. I do not recommend their buffet it's the same food every day and is not the best. There are better cheaper places to eat right across the street. They offer open bar but their alcohol is cheap not recommended."

"Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean rooms and they even gave us a free upgrade to an ocean view room. The only challenge was the inconsistent rules that the attached Beach Club (Si Senor) kept changing from day to day. We were initially told that we would have free access to beach chairs as hotel guests and that was true for the first two days. After that we were told a different requirement everyday by the Beach Club waiters ranging from no access to required food/drink purchase to minimum speed of $50USD per person. We didn’t mind buying menu items, but it contradicted the free access that was noted in the reservation and by the hotel staff. Otherwise I’d recommend this hotel for adult travellers who want a great central location and affordable accommodations that are clean and comfortable."
