"If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, keep looking. If you want a true Montana experience, you've hit the right spot. There's nothing fancy about the outside and there are a lot of the owners vehicles stored on the property, but if you look around at other spots in the area, that is how we role in this area of Montana. The interior is very charming and is decorated in a log cabin style decor. We were treated to a campfire at night and sat around and traded tales with other visitors that night. The Log Cabin next door offered delicious breakfast options. There are no gas stations in Silver Gate, but a short drive to neighboring Cooke City will offer you 2 options and the Sinclair station there makes some amazing donuts. On the drive back from Cooke City we saw moose and fox. I enjoyed this area the most because it wasn't as commercialized as the West and North entrance to Yellowstone. If you need action, there isn't much to do here, but if you want a quiet, quaint place to stay while visiting Yellowstone, this is your spot."
