"Smoke detector was chirping when I entered my room. After two calls to the front desk, the clerk came to my room, took it off the wall, removed the battery and left it on the dresser. The provided hairdryer didn’t not work. And one of my towels had black stuff all over it, and one of the washcloths had what looked like a blood stain! Finally, had to depart a day early due to a family issue, and after talking to the front desk, Expedia, and the hotel manager Friday morning, I was unable to get my Saturday reservation refunded."

"My room was large, clean, with nice sunset view, a large full bathroom with plenty of towels. The bed was comfortable. Sheets were OK. There was a nice size fridge in the room. The hotel is in the dining/shopping district, on the same block and sharing the parking garage with the visitors' center, and The American Shakespeare Center and The Blackfriars Playhouse. I cannot think of a better location in Staunton. The coffee in the lobby was remarkably good, well worth noting. Guests were nice. I highly recommend the hotel, I will definitely return."
