"The Hotel The hotel is set in a lovely spot β quiet and peaceful, yet with plenty of restaurants close by and the main tourist spots within easy reach. The Room This hotel has thought about the basics of sleep in a way many hotels simply don't. The bed is the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and the pillows β wow β they're amazing. What a lot of hotels get wrong is the air con, but here it's whisper-quiet β no tapping, banging, or buzzing in sight, which makes for a genuinely cool night's sleep. The blackout curtains cross over each other (genius β it's the small things that matter), and even the door to the stairwell cuts out the noise from downstairs. All those little details add up to a 100% perfect night's sleep. I'll miss that. The Bathroom That shower β OMG. It's one powerful shower, an absolute dream after a long day of walking. Could do with a touch more room if I'm being picky, but I loved it. One small note: the fridge isn't really a fridge β more of a box with lights and no function whatsoever. When the hotel did get something wrong, they put it right, and I'm grateful for that. The bakery is a beauty β the almond croissant is an absolute must. The Staff Friendly, kind, always with a smile β this is what makes a hotel, and they got it right every single day."

"This is an ideal location for exploring Berlin central ( Mitte) and the East side. It is also ideal if you are attending operas at Staatsoper, Unter den Linden and thanks to the lovely bedroom seat & footrest, plus indoor pool terrific for relaxing. I loved the wine & food menu at the Checkpoint Bar - although didnβt venture far from the Lachs - ( salmon) which was superb! Back soon!"
