Silkari Lagoons Port Douglas

"I was under the impression that it was a resort, but there is no kitchen/restaurant/room service on site. The staff at reception were helpful though. The apartment itself was tidy, but our blinds and curtains had stains on them which looked a bit yuck . The walls and doors were marked and dirty which felt a bit gross. When plugging in the power cords there was dust piled up in some parts of the apartment. Sitting on the balcony was lovely and the kids enjoyed the pool a lot, it was beautiful and warm. Definitely recommend a hire car as it’s a good 5 minute drive into the main town. A lovely quiet community to holiday at."

"This place was brilliant. The staff were fantastic and always had time to chat and recommend great spots. Breakfast and dinner was always great with good portion sizes to keep you fed. We had an amazing visit to the rainforest and I would recommend the crocodylus to anyone who wants to stay IN the rainforest (and doesn’t mind the power being off at night). Also! If you have the opportunity to go on the night walk it really is a must do. Our guide Odin was unbelievably tuned in to everything going on, he spotted things we would’ve walked straight past and could tell us about all of it. We saw some incredible animals and plants and it was a highlight of the whole trip to NQ."

"Great 3-bedroom villa with lots of space and our own plunge pool. Some of it was a bit outdated and run down - e.g. shutters very stiff, one treadmill in the gym didn't work properly. But overall, still a lovely stay. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very helpful. Highly recommend hiring a car as this resort is not walking distance to the main town."

"Cape Trib beach house gives you the opportunity to have a secluded bit of rainforest and beach away from the busier parts of the Daintree. The restaurant is good, portions are large. You can sit on an idyllic beach with just a couple of others hearing and seeing the rainforest animals as waves lap upon the beach. We saw Cassowary at the property twice in our 3 day stay. You can’t go in the water, but that is true of all FNQ. This is not a luxury property but maybe a more authentic feel, the rooms have the basic necessities and are clean and comfortable. The property is well located for Daintree activities, we did both the horse riding and ziplining, both of which were excellent and can be organised by the staff."
