"Wasn’t able to get into the reception area and didn’t have clear instructions to check in. Had to go into town and get help from a local coffee shop, who called the hotel owner to get us in. Coffee shop staff was super helpful and had great food so that helped get over the hassle of check in. Overall, the place was quiet, in a great location, and had what we needed."

"Das Hotel wirkt sehr alt und etwas heruntergekommen. Man fühlt sich wie in einem alten Jagdhotel. Im Zimmer gibt es einen Hauptschalter, das große Licht an der Decke ist schon defekt und im Badezimmer sollte dringend der Kalk von den letzten zwei Generationen entfernt werden. Man hört wenn der Zimmernachbar das Klopapier abrollt, alles ziemlich hellhörig. Es gab auch nur zwei Handtücher im Zimmer, keinen Bademantel um zum Hot Tub zu gelangen, sodass man „wie Gott einen schuf“ geht oder in weiser...

"Herring House is a great place to stay--I enjoyed it immensely. I booked one of the cabins which included access to an outdoor shower. Although somewhat skeptical, the proprietor, Helga, convinced me to give it a try. Glad I did--truly an amazing experience even though the temperature was a little above freezing. The accommodation was extremely clean and ideally situated with restaurants within easy walking distance. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Siglufjörður."

"Nice big bed and room, nice property, breakfast was great as well! The restaurant was a bit expensive but that is standard in Iceland. Only downside of the room was minimal ventilation, so you have to open the windows during a shower or the whole room gets humid"

"I booked a triple room with Expedia and the listing says: three twin beds. Hotel Kea gave me: two twin beds and a sofa bed... If i wanted a sofa bed i could have booked anywhere else... When we told Hotel Kea our rooms were incorrect they said there was nothing that they can do. Maybe there was some sort of miscommunication between Expedia and Hotel Kea. But if you were to book a hotel, why take the risk? I recommend you book elsewhere and save yourself the trouble."
