"There’s nothing more off putting than going up to your assigned room and finding a completely unmade bed, with towels on the floor everyone. They need to make sure the room is actually ready before they send their guests up to their rooms. I realize Orrington is an old (historic?) building. The A/C system was probably a later addition, but it’s noisy enough to keep you awake at night—if it’s not yours, it’s your neighbors. The only positive point is that it’s very close to the campus. But...

"I loved this hotel! It’s in a beautiful part of uptown Chicago (Andersonville- an adorable gayborhood), near lots of cute shops, thrift stores, pubs, and bakeries. It sits right across the street from a beautiful cemetery, filled with gorgeous old trees. The lobby is charming and welcoming, as is the rooftop deck, where you can see the Chicago skyline in the distance. The rooms are nicely decorated-tasteful, not overly adorned. Our room had a lovely balcony that we enjoyed. Beds were comfortable...

"I have stayed at the Peninsula many times. They are advertising their 25th anniversary in Chicago now. In many ways, it is the same Peninsula. Excellent service and plush accommodations. In other ways, it is looking tired. It is not as clean as it could be. Little things are missing. At the Z Bar for example, the bar let's you sit down without cleaning the area after others have left. The rooms are clean but looking older now. I'll probably come back, but I'll look at other options next...

"Room wasn't really big, but it was clean and the beds/pillows really, really comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was excellent. Really hot coffee (a rarity in our parts), fresh fruit and seemingly real eggs. Finally, the pool was 10 year old approved and its long hours meant I didn't have to worry if it would be open when we got back to our hotel"

"I love the location of this B&B. Right across from a beautiful park, walkable to some fabulous restaurants and shops - and the red line is so close! My room was clean, quiet, cutely decorated. The kitchen was well-stocked with breakfast options. My one recommendation would be - I wish the coffee was higher quality! The host was prompt, friendly, and responsive to my needs. I'll be back for sure!"

"Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The property was clean and well maintained. The hallways and elevators were consistently clean, and it was clear that the staff took good care of the common areas. We stayed in a suite, which was spacious, comfortable, and well suited for our family. The bed was also excellent—very comfortable and provided a great night’s sleep.
