I like that. It was a nice size room and that there was stuff in the room like bowls, plates, silverware, cups and a refrigerator and dishwasher.All of that was excellent and amazing. I did ask them to clean my room once while we were gone. At least remake the bed like clean sheets, and they did not do that, but everything else was very amazing.

So I actually stayed here for about 7/8 weeks I believe. Jan to mar 2026 when I move here recently. Had everything I needed and more than the previous numerous hotels I’d stayed in at a cheaper cost. Had a nice small kitchen, place was clean, heating/ac worked fine. I’ll honestly have fond memories of my time here while I settled in to the city before getting my apartment. The staff were really nice and helpful in any way they could be. I managed through those weeks without a car at that time also and it was useful to have some nearby things like gas station, places to eat at walkable distance and also a bus stop close by, which is only a few minutes walk if you cut through the hotel next door. This hotel was basically my first home after moving to Des Moines. If I have friends or family visit from the uk I’ll happily suggest this place to them.

It’s a stay. Nothing fancy. But for the price? One of the better options. I had the one bedroom and man, the room is quite spacious. And the work area/desk/table is massive and perfect for getting work done. The downsides are, the building and rooms smell like something you’d smell at your grandmas house. The place is so extremely outdated it feels like you went back in time. The walls are smoker yellow, and it feels dirty as hell. It’s a quite a bit better in the room as far as cleanliness goes, but the outdated feel is real. It seriously feels very, very old. The spacious room and work area made it worth it though. And you get a full sized fridge and plenty of cupboard space if you need it. If this place was renovated and brought up to modern standards, it would probably get 4.5-5 stars from me.
