"The room was inexpensive so I didn't expect a lot. The room was larger than I expected but there were some maintenance issues. There was no hot water in the room so I had to go to a different room down the hall to take a shower that had an electric water heater. The light over the sink in the bathroom didn't work but there was an electric kettle with tea and coffee available. Nice people in a very old building"

"I was very disappointed with the facilities provided by the hotel to its paid guests. Occupants were not allowed to use the sauna and needed to book well in advance, and it's closed at 5pm, and if you are free in the evening, you don't have access to it. Also, it only allows you a 30-minute slot."

"The friendliness of the staff is top-notch and everywhere is so clean. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because there was a lack of vegan awareness. Although my meal on the first night was tasty it didn't include any protein. There were no vegan wines available but they kindly let me bring some vegan wine I had in the car in to have with my meal. "Conveniently located facing the ocean right in downtown Oban, so the whole town was within walking distance once we got settled. Comfortable room with parking right next door, and we enjoyed dinner at the pub right in the hotel, watching one of the FIFA matches. Slept well here and had a hearty continental breakfast the next morning. Would recommend!"

"The property was very clean but very warm! Aircon would be beneficial especially with not being able to open doors/windows without risking midges joining you for the night!! Bed was very soft and bed sofa not overly comfortable but ideal place to stay for a few nights. Great being so dog friendly,having the restaurant on site (though quite pricey!) and the station being so close giving access to Oban and Stirling. Fabulous views over the loch too!"
