"The staff was above and beyond, genuinely connecting to guests. Ravi, manager of food and beverage, was attentive, knowledgeable and so warm and welcoming. The hotel was beautiful on the inside. Serving staff Hridoy, Kistan and Myint were always warm and helpful. However the location in the busy highway was a big deterrent. It was noisy with motorcycles and very dangerous to cross. The hotel felt cut off from the rest of the local community. There is a serious need for an overpass to be built....

"Wonderful house, excellent service, good food (if anything, the portions were too generous). The gardens are the highlight, flower borders, etc - much nicer version of England compared to the original. Development encroaching in the valley, but there isn’t much the hotel can do about that I suppose. "

"The Smokehouse retains its old world charm. The staff are wonderful, the rooms original and the gardens lovely. Expect old fashioned as that’s the whole point! Easy walk or 5 minute taxi to the local town, 300m to night markets and an easy walk to the nearest village. We walked to the hiking trails and golf course. "

"The rooms were average, but several maintenance issues were noticeable. There were broken tiles and a damaged health faucet in the bathroom. The room also lacked convenient features such as a USB charging port or an international power socket. Additionally, the water fountain and the surrounding area in the backyard were poorly maintained. Overall, it did not feel like good value for money.

"The cups, bowls and plates in the apartment looked dusty. There was no hot water in 1 of the shared bathroom. The notice showed need to wait 30 minutes for hot water. It’s not sustainable if we keep the water running more than 30 minutes. The sliding glass door couldn’t be locked. The floor was dusty."

"Other hotel guests smoking happily at walkway on 4th floor. Smoke flew everywhere and stink.
