"We truly enjoyed our stay here at The Residence. This is a perfect getaway where all the staffs are lovely and friendly. Our villa stay is very comfortable, we cycled to everywhere within the premises. We also enjoyed the private dinner at the beach area. There is one good advise, the residence is quite a distance from the ferry terminal, the ride is about one hour and 20 mins. So do make your ferry schedule earlier. Emerald class is highly recommended for ferry rides."

"As someone who has traveled to more than 80 countries, I have high standards when it comes to hotels, and this one truly impressed me. The beautifully landscaped grounds, stunning beaches, and exceptional staff make this property stand out. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, though a bit more space would make them even better. The breakfast buffet is outstanding—spotlessly clean, with an impressive variety of fresh, delicious options. What truly sets this hotel apart is its people. The entire staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making every guest feel welcome. A special thank you to the hotel manager, Donnie, and the outstanding Executive Chef, Massimo, whose professionalism and hospitality made our stay even more memorable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!"

"This is our second visit and we plan to come again next year. We really enjoy the location, rooms & friendliness of the staff - we felt the service was personalised and sincere. The dining experience was wonderful location however the quality of the food (being taste) was inconsistent between different choices particularly around meat dishes being a little dry and sometimes undercooked. We had stayed the previous week at Hotel Intercontinental Westlake in Hanoi where the food was 5 star plus so maybe that caused us to have high expectations. That said - we are coming back for a third time so that shows just how much we enjoy our stay. Michael & the team are simply exceptional and look forward to seeing them all again next year."

"We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. The only downside was that the food and drinks were quite expensive. However, there are several excellent local restaurants nearby where you can enjoy delicious meals at more reasonable prices. Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel."

"Mutiara is not a typical beach resort—it’s a true eco-resort designed with tradition and sustainability in mind. It’s also actively run by the long-time owner—no corporate chains here. The most important things to be prepared for: no AC and no hot water. You sleep in lovely teak and rattan cottages with mosquito nets and plenty of fans. Which means this is a chance to experience what SE Asia was like 40-50 years ago (and of course the same way lots of locals live today). The food is terrific, prepared for you personally by very attentive staff. There’s kayaks, SUPs, and plenty to do—fishing, cooking classes, massages, etc. It’s all very affordable. Trust me, you won’t want to leave. This is one of those places you never forget."

"Room was spotless, pools well kept and Strawbella staff wonderful, al acarte dining options broad and buffet was good. All staff were wonderful. Hotel organised driver for full day tour and Rio was also exceptional. So many seating options throughout the resort"
