"I was extremely disappointed with my stay at KingsGate Autolodge Paihia. Although our visit was very short, our experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the poor service we received at check-in. We arrived late in the evening, fully expecting that most places nearby would already be closed. We were checked in by Jaime at the front desk, whose attitude was cold and unwelcoming from the very beginning. It genuinely felt as though she wanted to do the absolute bare minimum. "Firstly we were upgraded which was appreciated , but unfortunately the heat pump didn’t work and it was freezing , eventually a heater was found ,but then the shower drain was blocked and the bathroom flooded into the bedroom , however staff were super quick to come and unblock the drain and mop up the mess."

"This hotel was great, exactly what we needed. The reception staff when checking in and checking out were very helpful and lovely. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable. The breakfast was good size portions. The pool looked really nice even in the middle of winter. Would happily stay here again."

"Great location if working in the Far North. Beachside rooms are spacious and and tidy. Wifi and mobile reception is minimal which isn't a bad thing. On site restaurant is great for dinner and breakfast. The staff here are great and will go out of their way to help. One issue do a better corporate rate and you will be full."

"Beautiful spot by the river with river walk and kayaks for hire - we stayed in pet friendly cabin with bunks for 5, fridge and good supply of crockery but lots of other camping options including lovely glam tents with private balconies overlooking the river - cool communal dining area with pizza oven and trays of pizza making - staff very helpful and allowed early check-in"

"Amazing views from our large rooms, hosts were very friendly and helpful, nothing was a bother. The kitchen was well stocked with quality appliances. The only thing to watch out for is the exit from the car park is rather tight so be careful when exiting the car park so not to damage your car. We would definitely recommend this property."
