"We've been staying at the Trecarn Hotel in Torquay at least twice a year for the past 5 years as it's within 10 minutes walk of our son and his family , Its comfortable but basic ,I think it could do with a good freshen up .Sadly this time wasn't quite as good , we had 2 choices of room .Up 2 flights of stairs as the lift wasn't working or down 1 flight which we took as we both have knee problems. "we booked this hotel last minute so we had chosen this for location and amenities. we arrived after 9pm and i was left waiting at check in for a little while however thw gentleman that checked us in was friendly. "The whole of the place said disaster to us. The staff were very rude. They also didn’t even give a smile. The cleaning of the room was absolutely terrible. The inside of the cupboards where you put your clothes were all drips of coffee the pigeons you couldn’t open the window as they were just sat outside watching when we asked for help nobody seemed to have a clue what was going on.
