"Got a ground floor room. used the toilet and it made quite a lot of noise. went to office and the maintenance man was there. he checked it out and determined that we neede a different room. they quickly got us to another room. Multiple dining options within walking distance. bed was good. breakfast was good"
"when we got to the room there was no power. They got the maintenance man over right away. He had forgotten to turn the power back on after working in the area. Had to go into a shopping center to get to the hotel. Airport was not too far away, and a bit noisy till around 9 pm. Room was quiet. there was a frosted window beside the sink and the outdoor lights really lite up the room. bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good."
"The room was very comfortable and it was renovated. Bed was very new and comfy including the pillows. Breakfast was a little cheesy. Free passes for nearby fitness center which my husband really enjoyed it. Very good gym. Free passes for bicycle rental, too, which we didn’t utilize since we only spent one night there. Very affordable rates. It would have been better if there was a microwave."
"Union Creek Resort is a collection of rustic cabins and houses in the woods near a creek, great hiking trails and waterfalls. We stayed there after our day at Crater Lake. We arrived late in the evening but called ahead to let them know and they told us where we would find our check-in information and keys. Sadly, we were only able to spend one night there, but the cabins brought back wonderful childhood memories of Northwoods resorts. Our daughter’s family stayed in one of the cabins, which was cool but a little tight for 4 people. My husband, sister, daughter and I, stayed in one of the premium houses because 3 of us are of an age where we need 2 bathrooms. The house looked to be a 1960s-style ranch. It was very simple, but spacious and comfortable. The electrical outlets in our house were loose and our plugs tended to fall out. I had to plug our phones into the outlet on the base of a table lamp.
We had a full kitchen, but didn’t plan to cook, so we ate breakfast at Beckie’s Café at the resort. The menu was limited, but the food was good and reasonably priced. Our server was efficient and very pleasant. I had hoped for a piece of their famous pie, but I’m a vegetarian and the pies are made with beef and pork tallow, so … bummer.
If you enjoy rustic surroundings in the midst of beautiful woods, listening to the sounds of birds and water as it wends its way through a rocky creek bed, I heartily recommend Union Creek Resort."
