"Burts is family run. Nick and staff make sure that everything is perfection. The food is exemplary and the quality of the linen for the bedrooms is first class. My room was on the second floor and was spacious. My only small gripe would be to replace the shower enclosure curtain with a glass screen. Otherwise, highly recommend this lovely hotel."

"Sheelah & Peter are extremely pleasant and helpful. The spacious house are lovely and extremely quiet. The breakfasts are excellent in the large beautiful dining room. The surrounding countryside is spectacular (drive north on nearby Devil’s Causeway and look west to the Cheviots in the late evening, but be careful of the hares on the road.) The rooms are spotless, the beds very comfortable, the showers bliss, the rates excellent. We hope to return. The hosts’ recommendations for evening meals...

"This accommodation is very well located in the Kelso town square and within easy walking distance to pubs, cafes and restaurants.The bakery to the left of the front door is outstanding for home cooked morning rolls and beautiful cakes. Apartment 1 is spacious, clean and has everything you need despite the furnishings being a bit dated. Note this accommodation may not be suitable for those with mobility issues due to the stairs to all rooms. This is a great base for trips to Lindisfarne,Bamburgh...

"Sehr aufmerksames Personal. Gute und moderne Ausstattung, was von außen auf den ersten Blick von uns nicht vermutet wurde. Ausstattung ist sehr gut, sogar ein Kühlschrank befindet sich auf dem Zimmer. Sowohl das Abendessen als auch das Frühstück waren sehr gut! Insgesamt die beste Unterkunft auf unserer Rundreise!"
