très déçu !

très déçue par cet hôtel ne disposant pas de parking, devant se garer dans la rue face à un pub; chambre bruyante (on entendait passer et parler les personnes au petit matin dans le couloir) et le clou a été de retrouvé une bouteille de bière entamée mais pas finie sous le lit ! on trouvera autre chose quand on reviendra sur Edimbourg !

Regrettably disappionting

The staff were really friendly, but there were many things that went wrong during our short stay. Three out of five lights in the room weren't working/didn't have light bulbs. When I brought this to the attention of the receptionist, she said they'll be fixed by the time we come back from a walk. They only managed to fix one. Sadly, the wi-fi was not working that day, so didn't have internet in the hotel. Also we wanted to have dinner there, but when we came down for it, they said the restaurant was closed due to a private function - should've mention that a bit earlier. Hardly got any sleep at night, as people above as were obviously at the party and returned to their room at 2am and were walking about for quite a bit. Not to mention that the ceiling or walls are not sound-proof. In the morning we came down for breakfast and after we had our cereal we had to wait half an hour for the cooked breakfast that came a bit burned. The girl that was serving us apologised saying that they have a new chef and it was his first day - pity. Also, a very strange thing, in an individual tea pot was between 4-6 teabags, so it was undrinkable. Were they saving the used ones and reusing them? Very odd... Overall, despite the staff were very nice, the rest was an absolute disaster and we would never return to this hotel.

Ordentliches Hotel außerhalb von Edinburgh

Insgesamt gab es nichts zu beklagen. Die Zimmer waren sauber und ordentlich und das Stadtzentrum von Edinburgh ist von dort auch gut mit dem Auto zu erreichen (20 Min.). Die integrierte Bar ist ebenfalls zu empfehlen.

Needs updating

My room was at the front of the building and on both nights I had to take a sleeping pill to get to sleep as the shouts and screams from the drunks outside kept me up for hours. Room was really basic and is in dire need of updating. Was not value for money at all. Door did not feel safe or that it had locked. All the items for tea making were decaff, cheap and nasty. The only thing I enjoyed was the cooked breakfast which was really good but you had to pay extra for it. The staff were friendly. But as a woman saying on my own I didn't feel safe and I've stayed in much nicer hotels for half the price.

Great Hotel & staff amazing

Long weekend. Hotel & staff welcoming. Hotel restuarant fabulous meals. Bar staff helpful. Only downfall was journey to town centre on bus took 45/60 minutes, buses run every 15/20 minutes. Trains less frequent as new station & is a 15 minute walk from hotel on a new housing complex.

Noise disturbance

Expedia hadn't passed on our booking even though we had a booking confirmation from them and being disturbed by very loud music on the Sunday morning at 6.50am was not pleasant it took over an hour to sort! Absolutely dreadful experience .

County hotel, EDIN experience.

We faced problem with Noise inside bath room, due to water flushing every time. The sound is terrible, Hotel mgmt. needs to do something about it. Early check in for 1 hr was not allowed by Receptionist, and she demanded GBP 10, which we refused to pay just for 1 hr. However evening receptionist (kate) was very cooperative, and she allotted a good room. There is no WI FI service inside rooms, every time we have to go down to Restaurant, not convenient.!!!

Not worth the £60 a night.

Window handle broken. Floor above and below creaky to the point of absolute distraction. Shower wouldn't turn off - had to get housekeeping to do something. Staff nice. Big drunken event on that night. Drunk lads until 2am kept my 8 year old up. :(

Cute from the outside, black mold on the inside!!!

We booked this hotel as just a place to sleep after a long drive up from London. It's cute from the outside. The staff was nice both that evening and the next morning. It also has parking and a happening bar. Unfortunately, the room we stayed in was awful. The beds were fine but the bathroom was the problem. The floor was wet when we arrived, guessing the toilet was leaking. The house keeper thoughtfully put a towel down for us so no one would slip on the wet floor. Okay, we can deal with that. We looked up and 2 of the walls were covered in black mold. It did appear the cleaners did try to wipe down the walls but I'm sure due to the water on the floor, it was a futile attempt as the mold grew back. When you try to remove the towels from the towel bar, the towel would get mold on it. Pretty gross!!

Nice hotel .. Great food .

Arrived at this hotel . No parking spaces . Not good !! Got checked in ! Staff lovely !! Got to room ! Smelled of smoke even though window was left open prob all day ! So room freezing ! We none smokers so not good . On the good side food was brilliant

So so...

Room ok but no bath (booking said there would be) and shower a bit grotty. Hairdryer not working and not replaced when I told them. Breakfast not great & not very good value at £7.95. Bed comfy though.

lively on the weekends, check if there's functions

great stay, great value, lovely room, really good Breakfast. just be aware that there is a function room below the bedrooms and Dalkeith has a lot of night life on the weekends

Clean and decent but get noisy sometimes. Car parking can be an issue especially if you arrive late at night.

In need of refurbishment

OK for an overnight stay but the room decor was dated and in need of a refurbishment. The bathroom was a little dark and dingy, lose tiles and grubby grouting.
