Hot, Noisy and smokers outside.
Had a first floor room, not overlooking the Railway line, unfortunately we had the main road. No problem keep the windows shut. But we couldn't as the room was far too hot. So windows open and the smokers stood underneath all hours smoking, which filled the room with cigarette and pipe smoke. So why not put on the air conditioning, simply it didn't work. Didn't bother mentioning to the hotel front desk staff, what could they do about it? Possibly move us to another hot noisy room.

Great location
Great location, minutes walk from main station and center. No tea & coffee in room but easy to get downstairs. Will certainly use again.

ibis in Essen
Handy for station and city. Reception not very friendly and struggled to find our booking. Room was clean and had air con. Seemed small though even by ibis standards and larger people would struggle with bathroom. Bed very comfy. If sitting on the mini sofa in room beware as you could easily hit your back on window ledge. Remote control for tv didn't work, suspect batteries flat and with ibis 15 minute promise they would probably have fixed if we asked.

Great breakfast
We stopped over in Essen for one night. The room is very small, especially the bathroom. The hotel is right next to the HBF and you can hear the trains and announcement. A bit noisy, but did not really affect my sleep. The bed is not very comfortable. The breakfast was very good (probably the best part of the hotel). In addition to £73 for one night, we also had to pay €10 for parking over night. It is a bit expensive for what we get.

Convenient & comfortable, but Essen not nice city
The hotel is very convenient for the train station, and yet not too noisy. Unfortunately Essen as a whole is a bit dodgy - not a place to walk around solo at night if possible. Hotel room was compact but convenient. Bed was very comfortable. Shame the room must once have been smoked in as could still smell it - not nice. The hotel staff were very helpful, letting me access my room early on day of check in, and then looking after my luggage on day of check out. Overall, if I have to visit Essen again then I would certainly stay here; but ideally just avoid staying in Essen at all.

Good Standard Hotel Handy for station
Good basic hotel, very convenient to the railway station at Essan, very helpful staff the receptionist even attended to me when she was about to go home in her coat. She could have just walked away!

Ganz in Ordnung für ein gewissermaßen Durchgangshotel. Top natürlich die Nähe zum Hauptbahnhof Essen. Das Bad/ Toilette ist jedoch arg beengt, nicht wirklich schlanke Menschen können sich zum Beispiel kaum drehen. Insgesamt natürlich trotzdem völlig okay

Altes Zimmer mit kaputter Klimaanlage und stark riechendem Elektroheizlüfter. Alles sehr staubig und Spinnweben an Decke, Wand und Schrönke. Gardinen waren eingeschnitten. Also ein Totalausfall des Hotels. Kommen nicht wieder.

Personal sehr freundlich. Rund um die Uhr Check in und out. Sauberkeit im Zimmer war mäßig wegen Flecken auf Matratze Zudecke und Spinnenweben in den Zimmerecken. War für den Preis ziemlich enttäuscht.

Frühstück war sehr gut. Zimmer sauber. Wäre schön gewesen zumindest ein Handtuch für die Hände gehabt zu haben, nicht nur das Duschtuch.

部屋は広めで、清潔で、エッセンに行った時何度か泊まっています。バス・トイレ空間がものすごく寒いのには困っています。短時間入れられるヒーターはありますが、シャワーの時はともかく、ちょっとトイレに入るだけだと暖まるまでいかないので。それ以外のことには満足しているので、また利用すると思いますが。

Das Zimmer war sauber und hatte einen schönen Style. Es ist etwas klein aber für ein Wochenende günstig zu übernachten, völlig ausreichend. Die Dusche ist leider etwas undicht gewesen, dies liegt allerdings an der Bauart und ist nichts schlimmes. Im allgemeinen bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel.
