This place has an awesome location. Very nice staff and a great continental breakfast. It is an older property, and the pool didn't seem to be heated, but overall wonderful staff.

If you can get past the outdated furnishings it’s perfect! Steps from beach, junior olympic heated pool and the attentiveness of the staff is on point. Quiet area and the shelling was much better here than anywhere else on the beach. Would definitely stay here again but t wouldn’t be excited about the room.

This motel is right on the beach. The property is well maintained, clean and convenient to all that is on Sanibel Island. We have visited Sunset Beach off and on for about 25 years, ans it is consistently excellent for anyone wanting a quiet time at one of the best beaches in the USA. . . especially if you love shelling!

I found the outdoor area of this property & location to be the only good thing about it.The room itself was in deep need for a good cleaning , carpets were dirty and stained, bathrooms you could scrape the dirt off the floor by sinks. Gross. The rooms looked like a cheap motel inside.

The room where we stayed was great, clean and roomy. Great access to the beach, the pool and paddle boards were great. They have breakfast which is included and that's a plus. The staff was great. The housekeeping maids were a bit hard to communicate with since some didnt speak english and it worked out. The only thing i would like to see is some effort to recycle. I know a lot of businesses dont recycle but it's ironic they dont when the beach is next to them. Otherwise, this is a great place ;)

We liked because it is close to beach, big heated pool, kichenet in room, free bickes , paddle bords and kayaks. But there is no washroom by the pool, parking lot is gravel, cars get dusty. First room we got was terrible: moldy pictures on walls, old filthy carpet, TV was smashed, lamps and refrigerator rusted. Much more... They really need to renovate rooms.

Nearly Everything on the island closes at 8pm. Great place to go if you just want to relax and not do anything. Hotel was decent but due to Covid restrictions the breakfast is a pain to arrange since you have to turn in a request form the night before for the very limited options available on the menu. The beach was small but nice and they had multiple activities available for use such as kayaks, bicycles, tennis court, and shuffle board. They need to provide some privacy between the balcony of each room. Only window screen separating your balcony from the ones on either side of you.

This property has gone down hill, we stayed a few years ago and it was not this run down. The breakfast items arrived in a cute basket now they are in brown bag and arrive as late as 1030 am, so you basically had to use them for the next day. Everything needs refreshed. Great location and nice they give you bikes...but maybe they could put air in the tires or provide tire pump.

It was very clean, had no bad smells, the room was convenient with larger refrigerator, stove, dishes, Nice bathtub and shower, AC works great, had a nice balcony. It is right on the beach. They supply beach chairs and umbrellas that are set up for you. They have kayaks and Paddle boards for the water. They bring a bag of food to your room every day They have tennis courts, shell washing station, large clean pool. The service was excellent, the people were kind and thoughtful. They practiced social distancing. We will definitely go back here again. I think prior negative reviews may have been for the bottom floor which they aren’t using. It may have gotten damaged in a storm.

Pro: Decent price for a room. Good, central location on the island. Plenty of parking. Heated pool and shuffle board was fun. Bikes at our disposal for free. Comfy beds and pillows. Wash off station by the pool to rinse off sandy feet. Very quick access to the beach. Con: Not super clean...if you looked at the baseboards/door jams/edge of bathroom door, they were visibly grimey. Breakfast had to be ordered by 8pm the previous night, and then it is delivered anytime between 8:30am and 10am the next morning. We found ourselves waiting around for breakfast (more like little snack items anyways) to be delivered; you can’t pick it up. Also, we never saw chairs set up on the beach for us to use. It may be fixed now, but flooding made it so we couldn’t use the on site washer and dryer. If you’re looking for a budget friendly place with a good location, this is a great option. If you’re looking for a modern, clean place where you can get a decent breakfast, try somewhere else.
