"The location is fantastic. I was in a room at the very top floor up a narrow staircase that made me nervous with my bags. It was big, the bed was comfortable enough, and it wasn't in a good state of repair."

"The service was mediocre at best, then NO hot water in morning, when we called first time said their was no issue, no one else had a problem, told to run the water until it got hot, 10 minutes later called again different person acknowledged the hotel did not have hot water, manger was going to reset the hot water tank, called back 15 minutes later, told they did not have a solution, did not offer any help."

"The Alamo Guest House was lovely, in a great location across from a lovely park. Easy access to everything …. transport, museums, restaurants, etc. The staff were exceptional. Great breakfast offered."

"Room was very small & hot, could've done with a fan in warm weather, window didn't open much. Otherwise all fine. Advertised as having bar & restaurant but didn't. Not a problem, plenty around!"

"The building is old and it is showing. The AC in our room was barely cooling down the room and as a result we were not able to sleep well for a couple of nights when the outside weather was warm."

"I stayed for two nights in the hotel. The room was clean and tidy. Iron and iron board were provided. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. It will be better if vendoring machine selling drinks is available. Also they forgot to clean my room after the first night, so I give them 4/5."

"Clean room, great staffs, kitchen was clean. Location was good right at the west end. However, there was no elevator. People travelling with luggage’s is really difficult to carry them through the endless staircases to reach to the room. I would highly recommend all the hosteling Scotland's should have lift/elevator at least. Thanks"

"We appreciate the trash being taken out, tidying up the beds. We absolutely appreciate the breakfast service from Ashem (apologize if I misspelled) & Linda during our stay. Also, the iron was top tier that didn’t stain our clothes. All staff encounter were friendly & helpful. "
