The service was excellent. The rooms are cleaned every day by very attentive staff. Ask for anything - you get it within 5 mins. The Operations Manager Sunil is very pleasant and responds quickly. I would give Sunil and the staff an A . The variety of food at the restaurant was ok. One area for improvement is the gardens around the chalets. At the time we went they were a little unkempt. I think we went in the slow season. This however did not take away from our fun.

Great time!

We had a really good time at The Place. Great location on the beach. The beach-front cabins are the best. Food and service was good. Need wider breakfast options, including local food. Beach was really nice to swim in.

Disappointing Service and Cleanliness

First we were escorted to a room, but then 5 min later they came to tell us this was not our room. We waited 20min for them to finally direct us to the next room. The room did not appear cleaned, the bed sheets had stains, there was no towels or robes in the room like described. When we asked for the towels, we waited 30min but eventually had to walk to the receptions desk and wait for them to bring the towels. The place has some very beautiful views but the service really disappointed me along with the overall cleanliness.

By far this is the best hotel in town. Few tips as a constructive feedback. I ask for upgrade, the first thing the front desk manager did (without checking available) was telling me the price! Husler at the beach can get very annoying Food menu needs to have more variety. Eg no sea food on the menu

A place away from home.

Very pleasant front office staff on arrival. The rooms are pleasant. The toilet seats could do with a change and the sofa deep cleaned. There was dust and hair on it. Room service was disappointing as the waitress wasn’t familiar with the menu and on arrival the food wasn’t great and expensive. A pleasant short stay spot at a reasonable price.

Great resort with beautiful beach, rooms are nice prefabs super cold AC. Didn’t see the value of the sea view rooms as we couldn’t see the view of the sea from our room. When we asked the manager they said the room is facing the sea but blocked by another row of rooms In front. Not worth the value and next time would book the Mountain View and save $60

Best resort in the country.....

This place is absolutely beautiful. It makes a huge difference if you stay in mountain view or sea view chalet. So it is definitely worth paying for sea view.

The Place to relax

After even a one night stay at The Place, you can really switch off and relax. The rooms and wider hotel are always spotlessly clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly, welcoming and will efficiently make sure your glass is never empty (whatever's in it). The great food, sunloungers, beautiful beech and pool make The Place stand out!

The Place has the WOW factor. A beautiful and most restful place. Staff really friendly and food excellent. Take the beach front room it is worth every $. I went for a rest and after 3 days left rejuvenated. I will be back

Great resort to stay in

Staff were friendly and helpful. However sometimes lack concentration to respond quickly. The facilities are great and had everything be rated excellent hotel. There's great feeling of elegance, safety and tranquility about the place, which I enjoyed so much.

"This PLACE is a nice one"

This "PLACE" is a very nice one. Open in 2013, about 50 little villas in a large garden on sea side. The villas are all the same, spacious and confortable but the ones on the beach are really the best for their situation. (the villas "Sea view" have just a very small view on the sea...) The restaurant offers really good quality dishes ( the "Lobster Trio" is memorable ! ) The service is kind and efficacious (may be a little slow... but it's Africa...) The beach with white sand is quiet and wonderful. The Place is just 30 kms from Freetown but by an impassable road; the alternative road is very good but takes about 1h1/2 (90kms)

Very nice hotel close to the beach

Very nice hotel. We enjoyed our stay from the beginning to the end. The lady at the reception named Vanessa is a real sweetheart, so nice and helpful. The staff working at the restaurant need to be more welcoming and the food need to be improved.

Flott hotell med hvit sandstrand rett foran.

Nice... could be better

No doubt this is the best beach resort to stay at in Sierra Leone. Beautiful beach, great food, spacious rooms, but it could be better... This was one of the most expensive suites (beach front suite) I've stayed at in any country so my review is in comparison with similarly priced hotels worldwide. Management needs to take better care of the property... paint is peeling in places, some of the furniture looks extremely worn... the place has lost some its luster, needs a touch up (I came in 2013 first time). Need better attention to details when it comes to cleanliness, room preparation, and customer service. There was no soap, shampoo, etc that modern hotels usually provide. We had to call and request many things including an extra set of washcloths/towels since there was only one set provided. There was no phone in the room so we had to call front desk from our cellphones and they had no way of calling us back. The AC had a smoke smell at night. Customer service...need more warm greetings, smiles, and politeness across the board. This is a country-wide issue but I digress. Should have some beach activities available like water sports or something... there is not much to do at the resort. This resort still gives me hope of what Sierra Leone could be as a tourist destination.

Beautiful and relaxing

This was an excellent location, away from the hustle and bustle of Freetown. Certainly the best service that I received from a hotel in Freetown. The facility is very spacious and reasonably decent. Beautiful beach front with gorgeous sunsets. Certainly where I would like to stay for future trips to Freetown.
