"Amazing location. Very clean and check in seamless. A few parking spots available within the complex but must reserve ahead of time.
Perfect. The only thing missing was a view of the water. Otherwise amazing!"
Pierre & Vacances Résidence Les Balcons de Collioure
8/10 Good
"Beautiful, exceptionally clean property in a great location. It is slightly farther from the centre than the description suggests, but Collioure is small enough that this was still very convenient.
Unfortunately, our experience with the two on-site check-in staff was extremely disappointing. The check-in information explains what to do if arriving after 19:00, but does not clearly state that the desk is closed from 12:00–16:00. This is important if arriving by train or plane.
The QR code provided for check-in also did not work. With no staff at the desk, we contacted the emergency check-in staff, who were very nice, patient and apologetic and genuinely tried to help.
The two on-site staff were a completely different experience. They were condescending and made fun of the French we used. This was not a language-barrier issue: French is my mother tongue, I speak it fluently, and they understood us perfectly well.
When our power went out, the same staff argued in front of me about who should deal with my question rather than simply helping us. Then, at checkout, the male staff member asked if I had cash to give him.
This was completely out of step with our experience in Collioure. Everyone else we encountered was warm, kind, welcoming, helpful and attentive.
The property itself is lovely; the concerns are specifically the two on-site staff and the gaps in the check-in process."
"Great location, close to everything in the town. The room was a good size and clean with a comfortable bed. We had a room with a balcony with a sea view - great view across the port. The breakfast was basic - we’d recommend going to one of the local cafes/bakery for a really fresh breakfast. You could also hear quite a lot from other rooms- the walls seem quite thin, but it was quiet during the night. It’s useful to know there is free parking a 5 minute walk away behind the intermarche petrol station. Also useful to be aware that reception is only manned between 8 am and 8 pm. The staff are helpful and friendly."
"This hotel is a family run hotel. The staff are very attentive and willing to help. A home made 4 course traditional French cuisine evening meal is available and is prepared by the family. The evening meals are excellent as are breakfasts. This is a lovely, traditional French and charming hotel. I can't rate it highly enough. The tortoises in the coart yard just added to the hotel's charm and were suprisingly nifty."
"Visited in summer. Arrived by bus. 5min walk from bus in centre of Font Romeu. 10min walk to small Carrefour and also to Telecabine. Lots of restaurants close. Reception lady was very helpful and spoke perfect English. Basic accommodation with bunk beds and sofa bed. Induction hob, microwave and dishwasher. Only bad part was smoking allowed on balconies which enters your room, if next door and you have the door open."
"Great location. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly. Don’t pay for parking as there is free parking at the bottom of the road in the big car park.
The outdoor pool was so unclean. It was apparently closed which was a surprise in Sunmer and during a heatwave but we were not informed of this. There were some residents jumping into it and I’d imagine they would have been poorly next day! Although the rooms were clean, the balconies were really dirty. We can to clean the surfaces to be able to lean on them. There were no chairs to sit out which was a shame. There was space in front of the balcony which had all broken glass and an old poor towel that had been left. Not nice to look onto. Our superior double had a coffee machine but in the 3 days we were there we only got two pods and they didn’t get restock each day. Same for the bottle of water. When we asked at reception we reluctantly got a further two.
Overall a good hotel with a great location. Attention to detail could be better."
