"The hotel was clean, the staff were great. The food was horrible, some of the worst food I have ever eaten."

"This weekend, I travelled from Canada to stay at this hotel that I booked well before the check in date. When I arrived at the hotel, I was NOT given the room I had pre-paid for because they had overbooked the rooms for the weekend. They DID NOT accommodate me. They DID NOT help me find another hotel. I had to find it on my own. I WAS NOT GIVEN ANY COMPENSATION FOR THEIR MISTAKE. And, I was not made aware of this until I got to the hotel on the day of check-in. They DID NOT send any emails or give any phone calls ahead of time to let me know that I would have to find a different hotel for the weekend. Absolutely no communication was made to me of their mistake. They waited until I physically got to the hotel at 6pm to let me know after travelling hours. This experience was extremely unprofessional, and the hotel staff were not kind or considerate of the situation they had put me. Worst experience and the worst customer service I have ever received. I will never book here again. There are also a lot of homeless people outside this building with no security (from what I saw)."

"Room was paid in full $1873 back in June. Just before arrival I was charged $1432 for the room. They initiated a refund when I checked in but this should not have occurred. Additionally, why was the room $440 more when I booked it last June? I never got an answer and never got any resolution; that is a huge difference! Room was reasonably quiet (lots of noise above, likely a storage area for housekeeping) and clean, but property could use some updating and maintenance. Windows were dirty, screens and storm windows falling off the house. Bathroom was very small with a very small sink in the bedroom; there were only two hangers in the armoire, only one chair. Front desk promised more toilet paper but we had to get it from housekeeping the next day. Location is good with Qline stop at the corner. I would, however, likely stay downtown next time where there’s a lot more that’s walkable."

"Room was clean, scary step into the deep tub/shower, loose tiles on the floor in the bathroom, quiet, but a/c was very loud. Very sparse with towels, odd plugs in rooms. Overall great stay, a little pricey, but we enjoyed the stay"

"El Moore is in an excellent location for dining, walking & getting to other Detroit venues. The property is small & cozy. The market next door is a nice convenience."

"Clean venue and nice locations. However, you will hear everything with the thin walls. I heard everything happening in the hallway along with all the noise and traffic outside. The price was nice, but I'm not sure I'd stay here again just due to the noise. Everything else was great. "
