"We have thought hard about this review because the people that run the hotel are very nice people who are very welcoming. Despite the language barrier Ginette was great and spoke better English than we did French. However, the issues were with the room itself. "I loved it here. The house has 3 rooms, each with their own dedicated shower room and shared living space. French doors open onto a terraced area and large fully secure garden. The Marie Celeste Hotel.
"This was the first hotel that we have ever stayed in where there is literally not a single staff member in the hotel overnight. Check-in is meant to be from 1.00 pm but when we arrived at 5.00 pm the hotel was deserted. We sat in a pub in the square until 6.30 pm by which time a member of staff had driven up. We had magret de canard for dinner but the fat was raw having not been rendered. The same female staff member was the receptionist, the cleaner, the barmaid and the chef. On our second day's breakfast the only bread provided was sliced from the supermarket, a first in our experience. That being said, if all you want is a comfortable bed and save money to spend on dinner elsewhere then go for it!"
