I liked hotel very much, and free breakfast was very tasty and many different dished were in the breakfast space. However Around the hotel, many shops were closed therefore streets were very quiet.

Tsuruga is at the end of the Hokuriku Shinkansen line. If, like me, you end up in Tsuruga overnight and have to wait for the first Shinkansen in the morning, this hotel is a decent place to stay. Level walk from the station, small but clean and adequate room, nice breakfast with several types of onigiri. Mostly Japanese people staying here, but you can use a computerized terminal to check in and out so the language barrier is minimal. There is nothing going on in Tsuruga however. Not even one open shop or restaurant in the morning except the 7-11.

Well centered Hotel and with car parking (500yn PD). Central to shops and restaurants with a FREE breakfast at the hotel as part of the booking and what a breakfast enough to say we didn't need to stop for lunch. They also had a choice of three free gifts which I picked the box which to my wife was a delight as it was a miniature Origami set. Room was clean and comfortable.

A typical standard Toyoko Inn - always a reliable option for a short stay over night. Close to the train station but it’s not the business centre of Tsuruga. We arrived at night around 7pm but there weren’t a lot of restaurants open close by.

Room is unbelievably small. Had to put room items under the bed just to fit my suitcase in the room. Bed is too stiff and pillows are probably the worst I've ever experienced
