Really clean and spacious hotel
This was a great hotel. The room was clean and spacious compared to other hotel rooms in Japan. They even provided coffee in the room, which was very nice and sometimes unusual for Japanese hotels. It was very clean and comfortable. I believe they had free coffee and tea in the lobby, but I didn't have any. One thing that could have been better was the chair in the room. There was no back to the chair, so it was rather uncomfortable to do work at the desk. Otherwise, everything was great.

Vessel Inn is convenient to the metro, moderately priced, quiet, and clean. It is on the quieter side of Nakasu. The staff was friendly and the breakfast quite good. Typical very small room. Hot water and water pressure and air conditioning superb.

The room was on the smaller side but what it lacks in size, it makes up in service. They provide bottomless drinks from 14:00~23:00 everyday and that's not all. Eat all you want breads (the croissant was delicious) from 14:00~21:00 and eat all you want chazuke (rice with toppings soaked in tea) from 21:00~23:00 meaning you don't have to eat out (albeit eating the same thing) if you don't want too. Nice.

only on a tight budget
room is extremely small. and the worst thing (for me) about the room is the air-conditioning. Even though I turned to the lowest temperature possible (17C) the room was still very hot and it's snowing winter! had to open the window to let cool air in in order to lower room temperature. I cannot imagine what it's like to stay in summer.

Great location
The hotel was great but due to an unforeseen event that took place during that weekend only, I was not able to stay the whole weekend but the hotel staff did their best to accommodate my needs. I would definitely go back here for future visits.

Great day, fun night location!
Small room even by Japan standards. Wifi only in lobby. Clean and new. Great food, shopping & sightseeing all within walking distance. Subway & JR station close by. At night, streets around hotel change to girl bar area for great people watching and dining! Short taxi ride to international port terminal for high speed ferry to South Korea.

Great Weekend Getaway
The hotel was nice. Hotels.com was kind enough to change my room from a single bed to 2 beds at the last minute. Customer service was great even though the staff knew some english but it was great for me because I got to learn to practice my Japanese. The hotel is located near shopping centers and Tenjin train station, so there was always somewhere to go. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that travels. Great rates, awesome customer service and good times with friends.

Cheap for a reason
Looking for a quick overnight stay, then this hotel should suffice. I was in Fukuoka for two night three days and would not stay here again. Typical small Japanese hotel rooms as expected. However very disappointing that they did not have WiFi in the hotel! Must say the location is good. Close to a lot of restaurants and bars and not far from airport.

Visitors may wish to know that what is called a "semi-double bed" is just a grandiose name for a single bed. These are very cramped quarters.

The hotel staff was very helpful, the hotel was clean and very conveniently located near restaurants and a subway station. The rooms themselves are very, very small. I have stayed at many hotels in Japan, and my room at this hotel was perhaps the smallest I have experienced. The room was very neat, nicely attended and in very good shape, but very, very small. There is also virtually no English in the hotel. None of the room instructions are in English, no television stations are in English and the instructions for the electronically operated toilet had no English. The hotel is located at the edge of the "ladies district". When I got up to jog at 5:00 am, the ladies were still active. This did not bother me, however it may be something you want to consider if you are bringing children.

Nice room with little available space
The room was very clean and modern but was the smallest room in which I had stayed. Getting dressed in the morning became a planned and coordinated event. The location was great, the amenities were good and the staff was very friendly.

Lost in translation
When I checked in the communication seemed fine meaning they understood what I was asking and they could translate what they were saying BUT I was supposed to stay there for four night and got sick after the first night and didn't feel any better they next morning, I check out three days early and wanted to know if I could be refunded or credited for the three remaining days but all of a sudden know one could speak English so I lost out on those remaining three nights, room very clean, room very very small, great for just to sleep in but not to lounge for any period of time. Would I stay again ? No. Only because no customer service especially for a customer that has paid in full and checked out early enough the next morning.

The room was small but it had everything needed. If you're looking for just a good place to sleep at night while you explore during the day then it's a good choice. The location is PERFECT and right near the subway; 10 minutes from Tenjin and close to the airport. Staff were really helpful and friendly. I'd recommend it to friends in the future. THANKS FOR A GOOD VACATION!

I would definitely recommend this hotel. Very clean, very comfortable, very convenient location close to lots of restaurants and shopping. Though the room was a lot smaller than I expected it I still enjoyed my stay and would stay there again in the future.

Great Location, just in the middle of everywhere, surprisingly cheap rooms, but when I booked in I understood why. The room was very small, the bed was a bit hard, but thats normal over there. The Girls of the staff was very polite, to bad I cant say the same about then men who worked there, they always looked away when we came by the reception. But all in all a good Place.

Tiny even for Japanese standards, I had a single room to myself while my mom and sister shared a double room, the double room was the same size as my single room! Conveniently located two subway stops away from Hakata station, within walking distance from the canal city and night food stalls along the river. Overall, I much preferred other hotels that I stayed in nearer to Hakata station for only a fraction of the price, but I booked too late and all other hotels were full. Would definitely plan ahead next time.

This hotel is conveniently located by the subway, and is walking distance to all the major tourist areas--Tenjin, Canal City, Hakata, etc. Very close to the Asian Arts Museum. As others have said, the room is comically small, but you can manage to fit two medium to large suitcases in reasonably out of the way parts of the floor if you're clever about it. The staff are friendly, although contrary to some other Japanese hotels, if you put the "no cleaning" sign on your door, they take it seriously. Other hotels will go in and replace used cups, toiletries, coffee, etc. while not changing linens, but at this place, they don't even go in the room. Breakfast is served on the first floor, and considering restaurant prices in Fukuoka, it's reasonable for what you get. The front desk staff speak reasonably good English.

Rms were smaller than even regular Japanese standard size. Lobby had only one table with four chairs...no amenities to speak of...not the best location in terms of shopping at large department stores but staff was nice and helpful.
