Spotless clean room. One of the best hotel bathroom with very good towls aand best toilets. Big problem was the suite was a loft design with a very narrow and winding stairs which is not very well lighted. Particularly difficult for 70 + years old customers. The living area and cabinet storage is too small for 2 adultsvto be comfortable.

Nice location

Nice location - All famous restaurants are in walking distance. However, the room , especially the bedroom, was having moldy smell, even we turned the aircon on. The smell should come from the pillows or the mattress.

Great location and swimming pool

Very nice swimming pool. The room is not well cleaned. Bathroom amenities are poor especially the hair conditioner which is like body lotion and watery. Housekeeping is not well done as bathroom mat missing, used towel from previous occupant was still inside the room hanging on the sofa.

A charming, nostalgic luxury hotel ideally located in the heart of Georgetown, Penang, just a short walk from the old town, where you can enjoy sightseeing, shopping, exploring historic buildings, and savoring delicious local cuisine. The location is excellent, with a 24-hour self-service laundromat just a 3-minute walk away. The hotel is clean, quiet, and well-equipped with all the essential amenities. Its lobby features an engaging display that shares the rich history of both the hotel and Georgetown. Our family of four (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed in a family room with two queen beds, which felt very spacious and comfortable. The only downside was the hot and humid late June weather, walking outside in the afternoon for even 10 minutes was nearly unbearable. We enjoyed staying at the hotel and will definitely rebook it next time.

Best hotel in George Town

Really good location at the top of Chulia St which is where a lot of the restaurants are. We had a nice large room with a balcony, the TV was enormous and had a good range of channels. The room was spotless and the bathroom had a good range of toiletries. The pool is in the middle of the hotel and was a welcome respite from the July heat. 100% recommend this hotel.

Good in all areas

The hotel staff answered to all my requests from room change to amenities request. The location is good. Only 2 issues : the pillows are a bit too low and the sofa bed is quite small for triple sharing.

Great location but loud music ruined the stay

The hotel is very conveniently located in George Town and within walking distance to a lot of good food and attractions. However I have it a low rating because the hotel is located next to a disco and the loud music and thumping was quite unbearable. It went on till they closed at 3am. If not for the music, everything was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great location, beautiful building, friendly staff. Design and layout is weird. Rooms are dark and have flaws. Breakfast is not great. Hotel operation overall not smooth. Requests are not understood or considered. Billing in bar and restaurant not connected to the hotel.

It’s a beautiful boutique hotel. The amenities were great and I loved the pool. And the location was amazing. I stayed in the loft-style room. I think perhaps it was the was the steps were designed, I almost tripped a couple times at the turn of the stairs. They should put a lamp on the table under the stairs because it was too dark as well. There was zero artwork in the room. Also, I was disappointed that, given it is a five-star hotel, the attention to details was subpar. A light bulb in the foyer was burnt out and the clear glass on the side of the stairs weren’t clean properly as I could see stains on it. Other than that, it is a nice property.

Disappointing

Was not 5 star service or amenities. Staff was pleasant but not service oriented or knowledgeable. No body wash in bathrooms. Pool was too crowded-No place to sit. Lighting in room was dim. Not enough electric outlets. No full length mirror. We had a suite and the door between the bedroom and living room was poorly placed. It was always on the way of the drawers and closet. As far as cleanliness, the soap dish was never cleaned and one day I found a long dark hair on the bed. (It wasn’t mine). On the plus side, the massage chair in my suite and the heated toilet seat were very nice touches.
