Nice friendly

What an amazing hotel, staff greeted us outside the hotel and knew who we were even though we didn't tell them what time we were arriving. They checked us into our traditional Japanese apartment complete with an outdoor onsen, but not before my girlfriend got to choose her Yakuta to wear. The apartment was amazing, tatami mats, paper screen windows, floor tables and chairs. The onsen was fantastic, and the outdoor shower was a great experience. We also experienced their traditional...

The hotel is close to the station. Just a short walk from the underpass. Friendly staffs, as usual for Japanese hotels. The room was quite clean despite some hairs on tatami mats. Wifi signal was very strong and fast. The onsen was mediocre, but overall impressed.

This is a great onsen experience. Great service and friendly staff. The baths are good and clean, and the kaiseki food is fantastic. Building is a bit old, but the traditional rooms were comfortable and atmospheric. Would go again!

Good luck for us because we stayed at Gero during the firework festival , it is so beautiful. Happy for stay at Fugaku 1 night. The staff and meal are nice. ^__^

Very good

Onsen was awesome, nice view, dinner buffet was great with beer, staff was friendly and helpful

Simple check in, even if Google takes you to the wrong side of the building. Staff had enough English to help and the room was clean and recenty refurbished.

Excellent! Fantastic stay, good value and impressive services and comfortable accommodation. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The room was very spacious. The staff sets up traditional futon mattresses while you're at dinner, and these are very comfortable. The en-suite onsen is truly luxurious as promised, although be sure to look up steps for how to shower/prepare if you have not done one before! They also open up the main onsens for private use between 10pm and 6am (during the day they're gender-restricted). The food was...

An excellent Ryokan with lovely staff. We felt very well cared for. Thank you very much for your hospitality. The breakfast is spectacular. As advised by the owners, this is a very very traditional old house (it’s the whole point of the experience), so one should not expect hotel things like black out blinds, or soundproofing.

Probably one of the best stays of my life. The stag was absolutely amazing, from start to finish. The attention to detail is impeccable, whilst not overwhelming. The room was wonderful, and the dinner and breakfast experiences magic. Overall, for the price of what would be a normal room in Tokyo, you get an outstanding experience. Lots of surprises, such as the massage chairs and public baths (all rooms seem to have a private onsen, ours certainly did. Our room was 4 different rooms (dinning...

An amazing experience and stay! We spent two nights in the ryokan and it was a highlight of our trip. The food is exquisite and we were served an array of traditional, creative and beautiful dishes which we very much enjoyed. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and did everything to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. They also offered us transfers to the nearby beautiful Majome-Juku from where we walked along the Nakasendo trail and experienced the stunning Japanese countryside and...
