Nice place to stay for affordable price.

Not fancy, but certainly a good place to stay for a Gettysburg visit. It's easy to visit the battlefield, and to visit the downtown area from the hotel.

Entire hotel smelled of smoke

Entire hotel smelled of smoke. Hot, musty, gym locker smell. Room had AC off and was sweltering. Took half the night to cool off. 4 lights in room, 2 broken. Microwave dial missing. Toilet leaked on floor. Complained asked for a new room. Down stairs was cooler. Said no. Asked for refund to go somewhere else. Said no. Hotel is run down.

Not great!!

Breakfast was lacking flavor and nutrition. Bedding was old and worn. Towels were older and even more worn.

Nice stay friendly staff

It was very nice. Had a problem with the tv and the nice lady behind the desk come up and fixed it right away. All the stuff was nice. Everything was clean even parking lot.

Shampoo optional?

Hi. We had 2 rooms. One had no shampoo, the other had shampoo in little ketchup packets. You know, with the perforated edges so you can tear it open and squeeze the ketchup onto your hot dog. At most picnics, my hands are dry but it's still hard to get the ketchup packet open! When it's too hard to tear open, no problem, just use your teeth to tear it open, right? We've all done it. Now substitute a shower for picnic, and hair for hot dog. Add wet hands, and the fact that ketchup and shampoo, although similar in texture, have a very different taste. I mean, really? if you have shampoo at all, it's in ketchup packets you have to tear open with your teeth? Please, either spend the few cents a day to upgrade to something resembling a functional package, or start ordering shampoo that tastes like ketchup. Or mustard. Mustard would be good. Just the yellow stuff, none of that brown Dijon. After all, I'm an American. I prefer French's. OK? PS. when mentioning things like this to the front desk staff in the morning, a response other than a blank stare and a grunt of indifference would be a bonus.

Cheap but decent stay if luxury isn't a priority

Best aspects of this hotel are the price and the close proximity to center of Gettysburg - within walking distance. Room was generally clean, and bed was sufficiently comfortable. Pillows were a bit small and thin though - had to use the extra ones from the other bed. Bathroom was clean, shower was very good. DirecTV worked fine. Didn't try the WiFi, as my phone already has very fast Internet. Refrigerator was very noisy, had to unplug it during the night. Only other thing I wasn't a fan of: the manager burning incense in the lobby. I'm sure it's a cultural thing, but the entire place reeked of it, and it might not please every guest.

Train meet at York,PA

I made arrangements on line,simple quick and easy. The room was as described. I think the room was very clean. Every thing was as it should have been. The owners were very nice.The continental breakfast was good.The rate was reasonable,after all I did not want to buy the room,just use it for a night. I would definitely rent it again. TV was direct TV and the channel selection was the same as at home. Nice big screen TV.

We stay there a couple times each year. Very nice owners. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Convenient to downtown. Restaurants within walking distance. Convenience store across the street. We enjoy staying there.

We just did a short overnight, but the room was comfortable and met our needs.

Not clean.

The bath tub was nit clean...it had other people's hair in it. Our friend's room was clearly unclean since the beds were a mess and wet towels were on the floor. Also, the person at the front desk took a long time checking us in.

Decent, clean, affordable place! All you need

Bathroom sink and mirror was in the hallway at the entrance and not private; if you care about that sort of thing - but bathroom and shower were separate, and private, and worked great. Pillows a little flat, and sink cold water pressure was a bit messed up. Just a couple very minor things in my opinion and in my room. Overall a very decent, clean, simple, and affordable place to stay. Not even a mile from the city center with sidewalks right outside the hotel to everything. Free wifi- and free continental breakfast as well and small in-ground indoor pool to chill by. I would stay here again definitely! All anyone needs if they're planning on staying busy in and around town.

Convenient

Check in and out was very smooth. Staff was not always visible. Often not at the desk. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Hotel was quiet which is a bonus to me. Overall we were super happy with this location. Close enough to everything but far enough to not be bothered with tons of traffic and noise.

Good Locale and Appropriate Price

The "continental breakfast" was Jimmy Dean microwave sandwiches and waffles. Our bed frame has vomit stains. But overall, the hotel was conveniently located and the right price.

Excellent value for the price. Will Recommend!

Property appears to have been remodeled recently - it has nice new carpet throughout. Air conditioner/heater was standard type and worked perfectly. The room was set up in an efficient manner and everything was very neat and clean. It is excellent lodging for business travelers! I will book again.
