Great hostel with a friendly atmosphere! The rooms were clean, and the common area was perfect for meeting fellow travelers. Staff were helpful and gave great recommendations for local spots. Convenient location close to public transport and attractions. Highly recommend for budget travelers!

Great location next to the transit station. I loved that each bunk had it's own light and power point. I paid extra for a x4 bed female room with ensuite and my only complaint is l wish there was a mirror in the room for when the bathroom is busy.

Not very safe

Someone clearly rampaged into our room when we were not present. The room was left untidy like it was used, dust bin was kicked out of the room. They also forgot their phone with their ID card in the phone case. The hotel staff were kind enough to put us in another room but I asked for an explanation of who got in and what happened. They could use security cameras to understand that, but we were not informed of what occured. Overall we felt very unsafe. Lucky that we did not had any valuables in the room and none of our stuff was lost.

Late check in was ok but the staff member that checked us in was obviously very high or on something but polite and did his job. The room was fairly clean but under beds were filthy and had big pieces of food & containers under them which lead me to believe everything else wasn’t hugely clean. obviously it’s a quick change of sheets, open curtains and put toiletries in only. It was incredibly loud and even with ear plugs in for sleep, I could hear music downstairs every night. We had a private room toilet. Good for a back packers but an ok in general. If you aren’t too fussy and can sleep with noise or was an ok stay. Thanks.

Rooms were good and renovated however weirdly there were bins inside the room which were rusted! Silly to renovate the rooms and leave cheap rusted bins in the place. Grow a brain.

Great location

Pros: prime location (walking distance to everything), nice common area with pool, air conditioning works pretty well, bunk beds with individual light and power point. Cons: check out is too early (10am), finding the reception may be a bit confusing for someone who's never been there (it's on the 1st floor of a different hotel called The Island around the corner). When checking in they requested my passport, which is a bit weird for a domestic trip (they didn't accept my australian driver license)

Cool place

Great stay. Excellent pillows, clean and stylish room, fantastic location. One small criticism, the mattress was a bit springy, not terrible but for me the one important detail is the mate was/pillow. There was some street noise/music at night but if you are staying here you are here to be out enjoying yourself and part of the street noise! Overall I’d highly recommend this place and I’d stay again.

There is a GCCC undercover Parking just next door, very convenient and was only $5 overnight. Didnt realise Bunk was park of the Island hotel so got a little confused with where to checkin but when staff explained the temporary checkin location of Island Hotel reception, understandable. Found staff very friendly. The room (Queen with own bathroom) is good, clean, has basic necessities like TV, safe, shower, toilet, usb stations all over. Room looked better on the inside than does from the outside, but cheap accomodation, not complaining.
