We booked a stay in the cottages. When we got there, we noticed a leak in the ceiling in one of the bedrooms, with 2 Tupperware bowls there to catch the drips. As we were carrying in our luggage, my daughter said we needed more bowls, since her stuff was getting wet. As i walked back to the office to talk to the manager, my daughter and husband looked around and saw there was food spilled in the fridge, hair in the sheets, hair in the sink and shower, and dirt on the floor. I told all this to rhe manager and she said we could move to a room in the hotel across the street. I said I wasn't confident about any room being clean, and she told me to call her once we got in and looked at it, since i had her personal phone number. I did this and the hotel was much better, and even closer to the beach. I told her that it wasn't worth what i paid for it, and she discounted the price. She was very nice, and did what she could.
