Otherwander Soho Pod Hotel

"This is a really good location for theatre land, can get quite busy on the street outside at night so be aware. The place was very well maintained cleanliness wise but there was already signs of some wear and tear which was surprising seeing as they're so new but I have a feeling that it was something to do with the under floor heating in the bathroom? Speaking of the showers could do with having a small shelf or something as you need your phone to get in to your nest so you need it with you all the time so worried me having it on the floor of the shower stall (it was fine didn't get wet in that bit but still). The nests are air conditioned which you can control did feel a little weird waking in complete darkness and I shocked myself awake by turning the wrong light on both mornings but that was my bad. It's a little difficult crawling in and out of the upper nest especially in a skirt so be aware if you have any mobility issues. Also bed was a little too firm for my liking. Downstairs in the hangout space there's hot drinks and vending machines, there's free hot water in the large drinks one btw don't pay £1.50 on the small one and awesome to see little packs of Soya milk! Filtered cold water taps everywhere was a god send! Staff very welcoming and helpful. Overall really great stay, I must have got a mid week deal as was way under their base rate so think about that when booking. Thoroughly recommend if you literally just want somewhere to sleep in the middle of London."

"Our hotel room was comfortable, very clean and spaciously well appointed. The staff at reception was courteous and anxious to help as needed, appreciated when arriving after flight issues at 11 pm. Netish was especially helpful when locating a driver to take us to York at the end of our stay. We found the staff in all areas of the hotel to be welcoming and friendly. One elevator was out of service for replacement, causing delays for guests and staff, but that was the only difficulty during our stay. I would not hesitate to recommend the Apex hotel and plan to stay there again when visiting Edinburgh."

"The room itself was very clean and had everything we needed for our overnight stay. The breakfast was mostly great with lots of choice (though it could have used some cut fruit and done away with the salad items) The only downside were the staff - in particular the female receptionist we initially encountered who clearly was not happy to be customer facing and who had no patience for the fact that her speech was very difficult to understand due to a strong accent. A shame because otherwise our stay was great, but she really made checking in a needlessly stressful experience."

"Great location. Close to the airport, also to all major route east, west, north and south. Edinburgh city center is 20 mins away. Wonderfull setting on 2 golf courses, so plenty of nice walks. Free parking. Worst thing is driving out of the hotel and joining the A71. Horrible junction."
