"The hotel was great and we enjoyed our stay. It does need some upkeep here and there. The beach was a bit underwhelming - a narrow stretch, with rocks in the water that can easily hurt your feet. While the water is very calm, the rocks can be a bit hard to navigate for younger kids. The pool was great but needed more upkeep. We arrived on July 4th and the pool area was packed. I noticed empty plastic cups in the bushes near the pool and even came across a plastic lid on the bottom of the pool. Some people had left their empty plastic cups near the edge of the pool. It was not a great first look, I must admit, but it got better during our stay, with fewer people around. The hotel needs to either incentivize people to bring their used pool towels back or have more personnel pick up the used towels. We found many pool chairs covered with wet towels, which made it hard to know if the person was still there or not. On the positive side, the fish pond and piano in the Garden wing were an absolute hit with my boys. We had fun feeding the fishes and the turtles and looking at the friendly iguanas roaming around. The ice cream shop, which is open 24 hours and also offers sandwiches, coffee and smoothies, is amazing. I recommend if you want a cheaper snack or breakfast than what the pricey restaurants in the hotel offer. Having a Starbucks there was also great. The stores were nice too, but overpriced."
Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort

"This is honestly the best resort I’ve stayed at so far. Don’t let some of the negative reviews scare you away. One thing to know is that the restaurants operate on a rotating schedule, so some are open on certain days while others aren’t. My group of four (including my fiancée) actually loved this because it gave us a good variety of places to try throughout the trip. The buffet was solid, about what you’d expect from an all-inclusive. It leans more toward American-style food, but there were plenty of options, and we always found something we enjoyed. The pool and water park were fantastic, and we spent a lot of time there. The opening and closing times weren’t an issue for us at all. Even though it’s advertised as a family resort, we had an incredible time visiting with friends. The entertainment was another highlight. The nightly shows and daily activities were genuinely fun, and there was always something going on. Our room was great, and housekeeping did an excellent job every day. I’d also seen reviews claiming people had items stolen. Personally, I had no issues whatsoever, even when I accidentally left some of my belongings out. That said, it’s always smart to keep valuables with you no matter where you travel. One of the most memorable parts of the trip was planning a romantic dinner where I proposed to my girlfriend. The staff went above and beyond—they decorated the setup beautifully, created a custom menu, and gave us with complimentary bottles of champagne!"
Excellence El Carmen - Adults Only All Inclusive

"Our stay at Excellence El Carmen was absolutely fantastic. The resort exceeded our expectations in every way. The rooms were beautiful and well-maintained, the restaurants offered excellent food with a wide variety of options, and the staff provided exceptional service throughout our stay. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. The only thing I would mention is that if your main reason for visiting is to enjoy the beach and the ocean, you may want to avoid traveling during June, July, or August. During these months, there can be a significant amount of seaweed along the shoreline. This is a seasonal natural occurrence and is not the hotel’s fault. The resort does a great job maintaining the property, but the seaweed can affect the beach experience. Other than that, everything about Excellence El Carmen was outstanding. We had an amazing vacation and would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing, luxurious, and memorable getaway."
Serenade All Suites - Adults Only Resort

"My family and I came back to this hotel for the second time this year. Having been there last year, we were able to notice a few things, and not for the better. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is still very nice and well maintained. My message is mostly for management. I think the staff is still AMAZING, we truly had a great time and enjoyed every second of our vacation. However,... - Elevator was broken, at least the one next to our room which was on the second floor. So, we had to use stairs every time. It's okay for us but for a handicapped person might be impossible to do. - Our room door broke on the second day [latch would not close, the hinge was loose], and we had to sleep with the door unlocked as the issue was not resolved. I had to put a chair behind the door as I could not fall asleep. Eventually, nothing happened but it was uncomfortable. It got fixed eventually. -The restaurants are extremely hot; the air is bad and really hot inside. I just wish management would take care of these issues before it becomes a bigger problem, the hotel is really nice. New Serenade Hotel just opened next door. I am sure is beautiful but so is this existing location. Havind said that I also want to mention again that the staff is AMAZING, the FOOD is GREAT, and the rooms are really big, spacious and cold, which is what matters indeed. We saw some waiters for the second time this time, SUSANA, Gracias por todo!"
